Trotter Commits to University of St. Thomas

Former Shawnigan Lake School netminder Aaron Trotter has committed to NCAA Division I program University of St. Thomas.

Trotter spent three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Shawnigan Lake School. He spent two years with their U17 Prep team before joining the U18 Prep team for the 2019/20 season. In 43 CSSHL games he recorded a 1.99 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .925 save percentage (SVS%).

During the 2017/18 campaign he had a league Best GAA (1.11), SVS% (.951), was named U17 Prep Top Goaltender, and took home a CSSHL U17 Prep League Championship. He would again lead the U17 Prep division in GAA (1.66), SVS% (.935) and win a CSSHL U17 Prep League Championship the following year.

In 2020/21 he would make the jump to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) joining the Prince George Spruce Kings. In 24 BCHL games he has a 2.18 GAA, .915 SVS% and 2 shutouts.

The University of St. Thomas is located in St. Paul, Minnesota and competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).
