Trio of CSSHL Alumni Commit to Lake Superior State University

A trio of former Canadian Sport School Hockey (CSSHHL) student-athletes have committed to Lake Superior State University for the 2023/24 season.

A defenseman from Montreal, QC, Samuel Belanger played three seasons in the CSSHL. He joined Pursuit of Excellence for the 2017/18 U15 season, tallying 8 points in 26 games. The following season he would play for the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U15 Prep team, finishing with 10 points in 30 games. His last season in the CSSHL was in 2019/20 with the North Shore Warriors U16 Prep team, scoring 1 goal and assisting on 15 more in 36 games.

Cameron Kungle played one season in the CSSHL with the Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Prep Red team. In 31 games the Red Deer, AB defenseman tallied 14 points.

Ross Roloson played four seasons in the CSSHL, two with Shawnigan Lake School and two with NAX. In two U15 Prep seasons with Shawnigan, the Woodbury, MN defenseman recorded 20 points in 59 games. The Victoria Royals would then select Roloson in the 10th round, 200th overall at the 2018 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

Roloson would head to NAX for the 2018/19 season, posting 17 points in 35 regular season games. He would play in all five playoff games as NAX captured the 2019 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship. During the 2019/20 season Roloson would finish tied among NAX U18 Prep defensemen in scoring with 34 points in 35 games.

Located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Lake Superior State University is an NCAA Division I program competing in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) conference.
