Trio of CSSHL Student-Athletes Sign with Ice

A trio of Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes have signed Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreements (SPA) with the Winnipeg Ice after being selected in the 2021 WHL Draft.

Edge School forward Miles Cooper was selected by the Ice in the third round, 67th overall. In 18 U16 Prep games this season the Calgary, AB native sits first in the division with 28 assists, and second in points with 38. In six U15 Prep games the previous season Cooper recorded four points. During the 2019/20 campaign Cooper finished with 33 points in 30 U15 CSSHL games.

 

Cooper’s teammate Oscar Lovsin was drafted by the Ice in the sixth round, 117th overall. In 6 games this season the Calgary, AB forward has recorded 10 points. In six U15 Prep games last season Lovsin finished with five goals and three assists.

Selected in the eighth round, 165th overall, Noah Stenvig is currently in his third season in the CSSHL. In 8 U17 Prep games with the Delta Hockey Academy U17 Prep team, the Campbell River, BC netminder has a 2.11 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .896 Save Percentage (SV%). He spent the previous two seasons with BWC Academy, finishing last year with a 2.33 GAA and .915 SV% in 4 U15 Prep games. In 2019/20 he led the CSSHL U15 division with a 1.64 GAA and .930 SV% in 16 games.
