The Victoria Royals have signed Canadian Sport School Hockey League student athlete Austin Zemlak to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
Zemlak, 15, has attended OHA Edmonton the past two seasons, most recently serving as captain of their U15 Prep team while posting 36 points (8-28-36) in 27 games, as well as adding six points (1-5-6) in one game at the 2020 BDO CSSHL Championships.
The Fort McMurray, Alta. product posted 12 points (1-11-12) in 23 games with the OHA Edmonton U15 Prep team during the 2018-19 season.
Zemlak was selected in the first round, ninth overall, by the Royals at the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
