The Florida Panthers have signed former CSSHL student-athlete Josh Davies to an NHL Entry Level Contract.
Davies spent two seasons in the CSSHL. The Calgary, AB forward joined Edge School for the 2018/19 U15 Prep season. In 28 games Davies tallied 20 goals and 9 assists. At the conclusion of the season the Swift Current Broncos would select Davies in the third round, 54th overall at the 2019 WHL Draft.
In 2019/20 Davies would suit up for the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (PCHA) U18 Prep team, recording 20 goals and 11 assists in 31 games.
2020/21 would see Davies join the Broncos for his first season in the WHL. He would record 9 points in 20 games. The following season he finished with 36 points in 64 WHL games while representing Team Canada at the World U18 Championships. At the end of that season the Panthers would select Davies in the sixth round, 186th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.
Last season Davies finished with 34 points in 62 games. He would also get his first taste of professional hockey, playing one game in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers. This season with the Portland Winterhawks, Davies sits second in goals (20) and third in points (38) in 25 games. His 20 goals this season has already tied his career high.
