The Nipawin Hawks have signed Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athlete Colton Schmidt for the 2022/23 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season.
Schmidt spent four seasons in the CSSHL, originally joining the league with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U15 Prep team, registering 15 goals and 11 assists in 30 U15 Prep games during the 2018/19 campaign.
The Sturgeon County, AB forward would join OHA Edmonton for the 2019/20 U16 Prep season, adding 11 goals and 6 assists in 36 games. Schmidt would spend the next two seasons with Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) in Penticton, BC, recording 14 goals and 17 assists in 45 U18 Prep games.
