Lacroix, Mackie Commit to Michigan State University

Former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes AJ Lacroix and Nathan Mackie have committed to Michigan State University for the 2023/24 season.

Lacroix joined the CSSHL in 2018/19 with the North Shore Warriors U15 team. In 30 games he would finish tied for the team lead and second among all skaters with 66 points. He would add eight points in four playoff games as North Shore captured the 2019 CSSHL U15 Western Championships.

The following U15 Prep season the Livingston, NJ forward would record 60 points in 30 games, good enough for third in team scoring and 10th in league. Following the season the Calgary Hitmen would select Lacroix in the second round, 34th overall at the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lacroix would appear in two games with the Delta Hockey Academy U17 Prep team during the 2020/21 season.

A forward from Prince George, BC, Mackie joined Okanagan Hockey Academy in 2018/19. In 26 U15 games he would finish third among OHA skaters with 29 points.

He would spend one more season in the CSSHL with the OHA U16 Prep team, finishing with 14 goals and 10 assists in 33 games.
