GAME DAY RECAP: November 8-10, 2023

Notre Dame (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

Avery Johnson (1G, 2A) scored his third goal of the season to open the scoring for Prairie. Adiyat Massen (1G, 1A) would tie the game 5:00 into the second with his second of the season. Chance Loke and Cole King would score just over two minutes apart as PHA grabbed a 3-1 lead heading into the third. Calvin Gustafson (1G, 1A) would bring Notre Dame within one 45 seconds into the third but Gibson Horne (22/24) would shut the door for the remaining 19:05. Logan Salamondra (47/50) made 47 saves in the loss. 

Delta Hockey Academy Black (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (12) U15 Prep

Jack Morgan (3G, 1A) recorded a hat-trick while Ryder Dunn (1G, 3A) and Bryson Roberts (3A) each had three assists as Delta Green beat Delta Black 12-0. Alexander Laing (2G, 2A) added four points and Blake Clark (20/20) made 20 saves for his second shutout and fourth win of the season. Holden Tamm (35/47) made 35 saves in the loss. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme White (6) vs Notre Dame Red (1) U17 Prep

NAX White outshot Notre Dame 29-6 in the first with Gavin Faul (2G, 1A) scoring twice and Jack Kibblewhite (2G) adding his fifth of the season. After a scoreless second, Kasen Harrold (1G, 3A) would extend the lead. Micah Pimm would get Notre Dame Red on the board minutes later, ending the Ty Swanson (24/25) shutout bid. Kibblewhite would add another goal late while Ben Deacon (1G, 1A) would score with 15 seconds remaining to solidify the win. 

Ontario Hockey Academy Prep (9) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (2) Eastern U18

Keenan Quenneville (3G) paced the OHA Prep offence with a hat-trick as his team beat OHO 9-2. Hugo Allard (1G, 1A), Hugo Beaulieu, Ryan Boon, Ryan Brunet, Kevins Petersons and Cole Shepherdson (1G, 1A) scored the other OHA Prep goals. Parker Fergusson (2G) scored both the OHO goals in the loss, with Jordan Laroda (2A) assisting on both. 

Yale Hockey Academy (7/SO) vs BWC Academy (6) U15

Goals 9 seconds into the first and 11 seconds into the second saw Yale lead 6-4 heading into the third. Dominic Allegretto (2G) and Eric Prexler would score in the third to force a shootout, where Kessler Hauser (2G, 2A) and Elias Papadatos found the back of the net and Nevin Connor (26/32) stopped 2 of 3 shots as Yale overcame the late BWC Academy push to claim a 7-6 win. Ryan Frick (3G, 1A) scored a hat-trick for BWC Academy in the loss. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme (16) vs OHA Edmonton (1) U15

Easton Doran (2G, 4A) led all skaters with six points while teammates Easton Arndt (2G, 1A), Brady Ondrus (2G, 3A) and Hudson Sayers (2G) each scored twice as NAX defeated OHA Edmonton 16-1. Ethan Lobay broke the Tyson Moreland (10/11) shutout bid with 4:29 remaining. 

Ulysse Academie U18 (4) vs Bourget College (5) U18 Eastern U18

Marc-Antoine Riopel (2G, 2A) opened the scoring 59 seconds in but Jordan Bibeau would counter with a first period goal of his own. Clement Valette (3G) and Alexis Gauthier traded second period goals before a wild third period. Valette would score twice in the third for Ulysse while Mathys Blanchette (1G, 2A) and Riopel would counter for Bourget. With the game destined for OT, Krystopher Roy (1G, 2A) scored his eighth goal of the season with 1:11 remaining and just 26 seconds after Valette had tied it. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme White (5) vs Notre Dame Red (1) U17 Prep

After a scoreless first Ben Deacon (2G) and Brodyn Pladson traded early second period goals. Gavin Faul (1G, 1A) would give NAX White the go-ahead goal shorthanded midway through the second. Brady Whitehead, Deacon and Tristen Bailey would add third period goals and Taylor Raynard (18/19) made 18 saves to secure the win. 

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) U17 Prep

Carter Haney (1G, 2A) and Layne Schofield (2G, 1A) led the RHA Winnipeg offence in a 7-3 victory over their Manitoba rivals. Nathan Froebe (1G, 1A), Aiden Jacobson (2A), Hayden Shtykalo (1G, 1A) and Gavin Quennelle (1G, 1A) all had multi-point nights. Carson Carels (2G) scored twice for PMHA in the loss. 

Delta Hockey Academy Green (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep

Seth Flett (1G, 1A) and Bradley Schmidt (1G, 3A) gave OHA an early lead but Noah Hoglund and Nate Barclay scored 45 seconds apart to tie the game heading into the second. After a scoreless second Kadyn O’Brien scored the go ahead goal 8:56 in and Tucker Robertson (1G, 3A) added a late shorthanded goal as OHA skated to a 4-2 win. Conner Nicolson (42/44) made 42 saves as OHA was outshot 44-16. 

Prairie Hockey Academy White (8) vs Notre Dame (3) U17 Prep

Kane Domres (1G, 2A) and Garrett Sehn (3A) lead the PHA White offence to eight goals in a victory over Notre Dame. Austin Gammon (2G) scored twice and Georgi Milanov (22/25) made 22 saves for PHA White. Connor McClarty, Brodie Steeves and Ilyas Yarkov scored for Notre Dame in the loss. 

BWC Academy Gold (8) vs Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Black (5) U17 Prep

BWC Academy Gold exploded for four first period goals as Christian Revel, Colton Gerrior (2G, 2A), and Jack Tudhope (1G, 1A) all found the back of the net. Logan Lepinski extended the lead in the second before Reid Rabinovitch got RHA Kelowna Black on the board late in the third. The third would see a total of seven goals scored as RHA Kelowna won the period 4-3, but were unable to overcome the early deficit. Noah Sinagowitz (24/29) and Sartaj Dhami (23/31) were in net for their respective teams.
