GAME DAY RECAP: November 1-2, 2023

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) vs RHA Winnipeg (7) U18 Prep

RHA Winnipeg outshot PMHA 42-20 en route to a 7-1 win Wednesday. Tate Dolinsky (2G, 1A), Reece Gault (3A) and Zach Lansard (1G, 2A) paced the way with three points each. Kaden Allan, Koy Funk (1G, 1A), Rhett McAuley and Wyatt Stinton (1G, 1A) scored the other RHA Winnipeg goals. Tyrell Leaske scored the lone PMHA goal, ending the Chase Furlong (19/20) shutout bid with 1:55 remaining. 

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs St. Mary’s Academy (3) Female U18 Prep

Addison Kartusch (2G) and Payton Henwood scored within the first 10 minutes as St. Mary’s led 2-0 after 20. Kartusch would add another goal with 4:10 left in the second before Alia Drummond got PMHA on the board with 14 seconds left in the period. Piper Miller would bring PMHA within 1 with 3:04 left but Sasha Coutu (11/13) would shut the door to secure a St. Mary’s victory. Brooklyn Adams (33/36) made 33 saves in the loss. 

Prairie Hockey Academy Blue (2) vs Notre Dame Red (0) U17 Prep

Tyson Ross scored the go ahead goal with five seconds remaining in the first period. After a scoreless second, Riley Robert would add an empty net goal with 46 seconds remaining to secure a PHA Blue 2-0 victory. Riley Brown (24/24) made 24 saves for the shutout while Matej Sevcik (42/43) was in net for the loss. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Forrest Karlson (2G) and Van Lof scored 25 seconds apart as PMHA held a 2-0 lead 4:58 in. Nixon Friesen (1G, 1A) would get PHA on the board midway through the first. Maddox Ramage (1G, 1A) scored early in the second for PMHA before Soren Hayden and Ramsey Thompson scored 50 seconds apart to tie the game. Keaton Smith and Karlson would trade early third period goals while Ason Apesis would score the go ahead goal for Prairie with 10:22 remaining. 

Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep

Lynden Mercier (19/19) made 19 saves for his first shutout and third win of the season as PCHA defeated Shawnigan 3-0. Brodie Bourgoin scored the eventual game winner 6:52 into the first while Tristan Follick and Owen Bate added second period goals. Liam Chamberlain (38/41) made 38 saves in the loss.
