North Shore Warriors (6) vs Delta Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
Matteo Paradiso scored shorthanded 11:45 into the first as North Shore held a first period lead. A goal by Shane Purves (2G, 1A) 18 seconds into the second extended the lead. Caelan Nicolson and Purves would go on to score later in the second as NSW led 4-0 heading into the final period. Liam Payne (2G, 1A) scored on the power play as North Shore was well in control early in the third. Goals from Jack Ferguson and Joshua Lee got Delta on the board, ending the Erik Powers (38/40) shutout bid. Payne scored a late empty net goal to secure a North Shore victory.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4) U18 Prep
Easton Sangris and Brendyn Van Oene (2G, 1A) scored less than two minutes apart as Shawnigan Lake led 2-0 after 20. Matt Patry (1G, 1A) extended the lead 4:29 into the second period. But PCHA scored three straight second period goals as Kansys Seney, Brendon Hall and Jordan Ramsay (1G, 2A) all found the back of the net. Rowan Guest (2G) scored two power play goals in a span of 37 seconds early in the third as PCHA grabbed their first lead and didn’t look back. Van Oene brought Shawnigan within one late but an empty net goal from Jase Johnstone (1G, 2A) secured the PCHA comeback win. Koen Cleaver (31/35) made 31 saves in net for the win.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (1) vs Edge School (7) U18 Prep
The duo of Owen Cooper (2G, 2A) and Landon DuPont (1G, 2A) led the charge over CIHA Thursday afternoon, chipping in goal after goal. Edge opened the scoring with four unanswered, taking a mighty lead halfway into the match. Liam Breakenridge would stop the bleeding momentarily for his academy. However, scoring would resume in the third, including two from Cooper that were only separated by 16-seconds. Entering the break, DuPont leads his team in scoring with 33-points (13G, 20A) while Ryley Budd (23/24) improved his GAA to 1.80 and his SV% to 0.936%, leading the U18 Prep division in both categories.
Edge School Gold (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Rhett Sather (2G, 1A) gave CIHA (18-3-0) a 1-0 lead over Edge Gold (10-5-2) just 41 seconds into the game. Ethan Elefante and Clayton Candy scored 1:06 apart to close out the first and give Edge Gold the 2-1 advantage. Maddox Rose (1G, 2A) scored shorthanded 19 seconds into the second and Hudson Getzlaf (1G, 1A) added his sixth of the season to give Edge Gold a commanding 4-1 lead going into the third. Lincoln Martin (1G, 2A) struck on the power play and Sather scored his second of the game to bring CIHA within one with 9:27 left. CIHA would make a late push, firing 15 third period shots at Brody Rotar (33/36), who denied them a tying goal. Erich Baxter (26/30) was charged with the loss.
