Donaldson Commits to Ivy League School

Former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athlete Sean Donaldson has committed to Ivy League school Cornell University.

Donaldson spent three years in the CSSHL, originally joining Yale Hockey Academy for the 2015/16 U15 Prep season. In 24 games the Vancouver, BC forward would tally 4 goals and 2 assists as Yale would win a CSSHL U15 Prep League Championship.

In 2016/17 he would join the BWC Academy U16 Prep team, finishing with a team best 20 goals, 17 assists and 37 points in 30 games. He would lead all skaters with 5 goals and 7 assists in 5 playoff games as BWC Academy would win a CSSHL U16 Prep League Championship.

He would join the BWC Academy U18 Prep team the following season, finishing third in team scoring, and sixth in the league, with 66 points in 34 games.

Donaldson would begin the 2018/19 season in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Trail Smoke Eaters, before joining the Prince George Spruce Kings where he would win a BCHL Championship. Donaldson spent the 2019/20 season with the Nanaimo Clippers, finishing with 24 points in 44 games. In 35 BCHL games this season, Donaldson leads the Clippers with 54 points, good enough for fourth in league scoring.

Cornell University is located in Ithaca, New York. The NCAA Division I program competes in the ECAC Hockey Conference.
