Cunningham, Kipkie and Wilson Sign with Royals

The Victoria Royals have signed a trio of Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) products to Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreements.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U18 Prep goalie Logan Cunningham becomes the second NAX goaltender within the last month to sign with the Royals joining NAX alum Tyler Palmer.. Cunningham is in his third season with the Xtreme, having previously played for their U15 Prep and U16 Prep teams. The Sherwood Park, AB native was originally selected in the 7th round, 150th overall by the Royals in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.

A sixth-round pick 126th overall in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, Justin Kipkie has spent the past two seasons in Calgary, AB with his hometown Edge School. The defenseman recorded 25 points in 30 U15 Prep games in 2019/20, and scored 2 goals in 5 games in 2020/21 at the U16 Prep division.

Originally drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the sixth round, 116th overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, Wyatt Wilson spent two years with Yale Hockey Academy. He joined the CSSHL at the U15 Prep level, tallying 9 points in 25 games. The Swift Current, SK defenseman would return to Yale the following year, scoring 6 goals and assisting on 17, playing 34 U16 Prep games.
