CSSHL Approves Expansion for Five Member Programs

The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) has announced that its Board of Governors has granted approval for five CSSHL member programs to operate new teams in the 2022-23 season after they received approval from their Hockey Canada Branches.

BWC Academy, Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX), OHA Edmonton, Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (PCHA), and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (PMHA) will all operate new teams for the 2022/23 season.

BWC Academy has been granted a U17 Prep team for the 2022/23 season, completing their male stream with teams at the U15, U15 Prep, U16 Prep and U18 Prep divisions. Located in Burnaby, BC, BWC Academy has been part of the CSSHL since the 2013/14 season.

Like BWC Academy, NAX was granted a U17 Prep team to complete their male stream, to go along with one team in the Female U18 Prep division. Located in Devon, AB, NAX joined the CSSHL in 2015/16 with its Female Prep and U16 Prep teams, before continuing expansion in the male divisions in.

Another program adding a U17 Prep team will be Edmonton, AB based OHA Edmonton. OHA Edmonton has competed in the CSSHL since 2015/16, and will now run a male program at every level.

With the addition of a U17 Prep team, PCHA will now operate four male teams, having already competed in the U15 Prep, U16 Prep and U18 Prep divisions. Located in Victoria, BC, PCHA has been a CSSHL member program since 2014/15.

The Pilot Mound Hockey Academy joined the league during the 2016-17 season. The Buffaloes, who are located in Pilot Mound, Man., will add a U18 Prep team in the fall of 2022 and will ice teams across the U15 Prep, U17 Prep, and Female U18 Prep divisions.

With all teams now approved for the 2022-23, the CSSHL will turn our focus to creating a regular season schedule ahead of our 14th season beginning in the fall of 2022.
