CSSHL alum Berard commits to Cornell

Canadian Sport School Hockey League alum Ben Berard has committed to attend and play NCAA hockey with Cornell University beginning next season.

Berard, 20, attended Shawnigan Lake School during the 2015-16 season, notching 58 points (34-24-58) in 36 games with their Midget Prep team, along with adding three goals and three games during the post-season.

The Duncan, B.C. product has spent the past three seasons with the British Columbia Hockey League’s Powell River Kings, accumulating 115 points (53-62-115) in 135 career BCHL regular season games and 33 points (17-16-33) in 39 post-season contests.

Berard’s 34 goals during the 2015-16 season were second among all CSSHL Midget Prep student athletes, while his 58 points ranked third.
