Cristall Signs with Washington Capitals

Former St. George’s School student-athlete Andrew Cristall has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Washington Capitals.

Cristall played three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with St. George’s. He would join the program for the 2018/19 U15 Prep season, finishing fourth in team scoring with 52 points in 30 games. He would captain the team the following season, finishing second among all U15 Prep skaters with 80 points in 27 games. His 43 goals and 2.96 points per game average were both division best’s that season. At the conclusion of the season the Kelowna Rockets would select the Vancouver, BC forward eighth overall at the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

During the 2020/21 season Cristall would split the year with the St. George’s U18 Prep team and the Rockets. He would tally 4 points in 4 CSSHL games while adding 5 points in 14 WHL games.

Cristall would record 69 points in 61 WHL games during the 2021/22 season, good enough for third in team scoring. This season Cristall would lead his team and finish sixth in league scoring with 95 points in 54 games. He would also suit-up for Team Canada U18 at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, finishing with six points in five games as Canada captured a gold medal.

The Capitals selected Cristall in the second round, 40th overall at the 2023 NHL Draft.
