CIHA Wins First Ever CSSHL Championship

Calgary International Hockey Academy has won their first ever Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Western Championship after defeating Prairie Hockey Academy White 5-4 in the U17 Prep Tier I Championship.

Brendan Rudolph (3G, 1A) opened the scoring in the first period with his fourth goal of the Championships for CIHA.

Kaden Hayes (1G, 1A) extended the lead just 1:30 into the second period. But Rylan Emigh responded for Prairie White 1:40 later and a Griffin Horne power play goal tied the game late in the period. Rudolph would restore the CIHA lead with 1:03 left in the second.

Lachlan Hanton (1G, 2A) extended the lead with a shorthanded goal 2:02 into the third. Ryland Molde (1G, 1A) countered for Prairie White just 28 seconds later. Prairie White would make a late push that ultimately resulted in a Rylan Aulin game tying goal with 2:29 left to play.

The game would head to overtime where a great move by Noah Milford drew a penalty and put CIHA on the power play. Milford would set-up Rudolph to complete the hat-trick and give CIHA the 5-4 OT win.

Netminder Cole Prelusky (30/34) made 30 saves in net for the win while Cameron Beisal (37/42) was solid in net for PHA White with 37 saves.
