The Kamloops Blazers have signed Yale Hockey Academy student-athlete Tommy Lafreniere to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Lafreniere has spent the lat two seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Yale. During the 2021/22 U15 Prep season he would record 15 goals and 25 assists in 30 games. The Blazers would end up selecting the Whistler, BC forward in the eighth round, 174th overall at the 2022 WHL Draft.
This season Lafreniere would finish fifth in team scoring with 39 points in 34 U17 Prep games. His 30 assists were second most amongst Yale skaters.
