The Saskatoon Blades have signed Yale Hockey Academy forward Matthew Dowdall to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Dowdall was selected by the Blades in the fourth round, 84th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft. The Coquitlam, BC forward has spent two seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Yale.
He joined the program for the 2021/22 U15 season where he tallied 21 goals and 20 assists in 29 games. He would add four goals in five playoff games at the 2022 CSSHL Western Championships.
During the 2022/23 U15 Prep season Dowdall would record 6 goals and 6 assists in 24 games, before adding 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship games.
