Wolfenberg Commits to Cornell University

Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Nicholas Wolfenberg has committed to Ivy League School Cornell University for the 2023/24 season.

The Calgary, AB defenseman spent three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with NAX, joining the program in 2018/19. That season he would record 9 points in 29 games before being selected in the eighth round, 173rd overall by the Saskatoon Blades at the 2019 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

Wolfenberg would play the following season with the NAX U16 Prep team, tallying 10 goals and 9 assists in 28 games. In his last CSSHL season with NAX in 2020/21, Wolfenberg would record six points in six U18 Prep games.

In 2021/22 Wolfenberg would make the jump to the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Okotoks Oilers. He would finish that season with 3 goals and 10 assists in 36 games. This season Wolfenberg would score 6 goals and add 18 assists in 38 games.

Cornell University is located in Ithaca, New York. The NCAA Division I program competes in the ECAC Hockey Conference.
