Trio of CSSHL Alumni Commit to MacEwan University

A trio of former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes have committed to MacEwan University for the 2022/23 season.

Daniel Baker spent two seasons in the CSSHL with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U18 Prep team. The Edmonton, AB defenseman recorded 51 points in 48 games, helping NAX capture a U18 Prep League Championship during the 2017/18 season.

A second-round pick, 28th overall in the 2016 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft by the Medicine Hat Tigers, Baker would spend four full seasons in the WHL, including captaining the team during the 2021/22 campaign. In 213 WHL games Baker recorded 20 goals and 69 assists.

A forward from Lake Country, BC, Brendan Boyle spent the 2016/17 season with Pursuit of Excellence, recording 25 points in 28 U16 Prep games. Boyle would join the Prince George Cougars in 2018/19, recording 7 points in 132 WHL games. He would spend the 2021/22 season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Okotoks Oilers, tallying 28 points in 29 games.

Ethan Strang spent the 2015/16 season in the CSSHL with the Edge School U15 Prep team. The Cochrane, AB forward would produce 5 goals and 2 assists in 20 games.

Strang would join the Grande Prairie Storm for the 2018/19 AJHL season, spending four years with the team. In 177 AJHL games Strang recorded 110 points
