After a four-year junior career defenseman Ty Ettinger has committed to Red Deer College for the 2021/22 season.
Ettinger played 95 Western Hockey League (WHL) games with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Winnipeg Ice, Vancouver Giants, and Victoria Royals, and an additional 50 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) games with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and Sherwood Park Crusaders. In total he scored 9 goals and added 27 assists.
A fifth-round pick by the Wheat Kings in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, Ettinger spent the 2015/16 season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX). In 35 Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) games with NAX he would record 14 points and help NAX win a CSSHL U16 Prep League Championship.
