The Edmonton Oil Kings have signed Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes Joe Iginla, Parker Snell and Joshua Lee to Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreements.
Iginla was the Oil Kings first round pick, 12th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft. The Lake Country, BC forward has spent the past two seasons in the CSSHL with the RHA Kelowna U15 Prep team. In 30 games last season Iginla posted 35 points. This past season he led his team in scoring with 65 points in 27 games.
Snell joined the CSSHL in 2021/22 with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U15 team, posting a 2.73 GAA, and .894 SV%. This season Snell played for the NAX U15 Prep team where he had a division best 1.35 GAA, .944 SV%, was named Top Goaltender and helped NAX capture their first U15 Prep CSSHL Western Championship. The St. Albert, AB netminder was selected in the second round, 34th overall by the Oil Kings.
A defenseman from North Vancouver, BC, Lee joined Delta Hockey Academy for the 2021/22 U15 Prep season. In 25 games that season with Delta Green Lee recorded 18 assists. The Oil Kings third round pick, 45th overall, Lee would record 27 points in 28 games this season with Delta Green.
