Canadian Sport School Hockey League’s Sawyer Mynio has signed with the Western Hockey League’s Seattle Thunderbirds after being selected in the third round, 63rd overall, in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
The five-foot-ten defenseman competed for Yale Hockey Academy’s Bantam Prep team in the 2019-2020 season recording four goals and 19 assists in 23 regular season games (4-19-23). Mynio also suited up as an affiliate athlete for Yale’s Elite 15 team for one game during the season recording two assists (0-2-2).
Mynio, a product of Kamloops, B.C., scored one goal and added two assists (1-2-3) in two games during the COVID-19 shortened 2020 BDO CSSHL Championships.
