GAME DAY RECAP–> October 11-13, 2023

RHA Winnipeg (1) vs St. Mary’s Academy (2) Female Prep

Kaitlyn Harvey opened the scoring in the first with her third goal of the season. Rowyn Street’s fourth goal of the season would tie the game midway through the second period. Peyton Mages would score the eventual game winner 3:09 into the third, and Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine (28/29) made 28 saves as St. Mary’s defeated RHA Winnipeg 2-1/ Inhye Jang (36/38) was in net for RHA Winnipeg. 

St. George’s School (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School (6) U18 Prep

Joshua Polak (2G, 1A) opened the scoring just 21 seconds in but Amadeo Sim (2G) would tie the game 17 seconds later. Another first period goal from Polak would give Shawnigan a 2-1 lead after 20. Conall Hill would extend the lead 29 seconds into the second but goals 8 seconds apart from Braulio Siu and Connor Pankratz would tie the game. Brendyn Van Oene (1G, 1A) and Eli McKamey (1G, 1A) would close out the second with goals for Shawnigan as they led 5-3 after 40. In the third, Gabriel Kenny (1G, 1A) and Sim traded goals as the game ended 6-4 in favour of Shawnigan. 

 

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) vs Mount Academy (4) Eastern U18

Matthew Hebert and Mederic Allard (1G, 1A) scored first period goals as Mount Academy led 2-0 after 20. After a scoreless second, Jesse Gauthier (1G, 1A) extended the lead 14:05 into the third. Emil Obstfelder would score a power play goal just 30 seconds later to get OHO on the board but a Phillipp Lehmann shorthanded goal with 2:25 remaining secured a Mount victory. 

RHA Winnipeg (5) vs Notre Dame (6) U17 Prep

River Arnason (1G, 2A) opened the scoring for RHA Winnipeg 1:17 in but thanks to goals from Ryder Gilroy (1G, 1A), Ilyas Yarkov, and Ryan Kowalsky (2G, 2A) Notre Dame led 3-1 1:48 into the second. Hayden Shtykalo (3G, 1A) and Jacob Boekelder (1G, 1A) would trade second period goals before Trystan Hunter (1G, 1A) brought RHA Winnipeg within one with a shorthanded marker. Shtykalo would then score two unanswered to complete the hat-trick and give RHA Winnipeg a 5-4 lead heading into the third. Kowalsky would tie the game early in the third and Reid White (1G, 1A) would score his first of the season as Notre Dame completed the third period comeback. 

Ontario Hockey Academy White (2) vs Champions Hockey Academy (8) Eastern U17

Max Patenaude (3G, 2A) recorded a hat-trick and led all skaters with five points to lead Champions Hockey Academy to an 8-2 win. Charlie Morrison (1G, 2A) and Saylor Smallman (1G, 2A) each had three points in the win. Ty Berube and Tristan Lalonde scored for OHA White in the loss. 

Bourget College (4) vs Mount Academy Eastern (7) U18

Mount would jump out to a commanding 3-0 lead 11:44 into the game but Bourget College would score three straight themselves, tying the game heading into the second. Mederic Allard (1G, 1A) would score the lone second period tally and goals by Anthony Molloy and Alex Culligan (1G, 1A) in the first 2:32 of the third saw Mount lead 6-3. Merlin Offman and Matthew Hebert would trade goals to close out the game. Jason Tremblay (39/43) made 39 saves and recorded an assist in the win. 

King Heights Academy (1) vs Ontario Hockey Academy Gold (4) Eastern U18

OHA Gold outshot King Heights 86-29 en route to a 4-1 victory. After a scoreless first Max Lewis, Louie White (1G, 1A) and Denis Kostolanyi (1G, 1A) scored second period goals for OHA Gold, while Roman Morillas countered for KHA. Thorvald Naess would add a late third period marker to secure the victory. Jesse Nuccio (28/29) and Connor Prinold (82/86) were in net for their respective teams. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme Blue (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Jacob Harkness and Easton LaPlante traded first period goals before Lachlan Hanton scored in the second to give CIHA a 2-1 lead heading into the third. Jake MacDonald would tie the game midway through the final frame but Noah Milford would score with 2:25 remaining as CIHA defeated NAX Blue 3-2. Cole Prelusky (29/31) and Parker Snell (32/35) were in net for their respective teams. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U18 Prep

2023 WHL Draft picks Jordan Duguay (1G, 2A) and Daxon Rudolph (2G, 1A) paced the NAX offence as they defeated PHA 6-1. Sam Saskiw (30/31) made 30 saves for the win while Landon Garbitt (44/50) was charged with the loss. Avery Johnson scored the lone Prairie goal in the first period.

Northern Alberta Xtreme White (2) vs OHA Edmonton Black (3) U17 Prep

NAX White outshot OHA Edmonton Black 50-21 but a 48 save performance from Aidan Prosser (48/50) gave OHA Edmonton Black a 3-2 win. Braydon Franks, Logan Penston and Casen Vadori (1G, 1A) all scored for OHAE Black, who scored three straight goals, including 2 in a span of 11 seconds. Jackson Roberts opened the scoring for NAX White and Brady Whitehead added a late tally as well. 

Mount Academy (8) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (4) Eastern U18

Down 4-3 heading into the third, Mount Academy would score five unanswered goals to grab an 8-4 win Friday. Brandon Gauthier (2G, 2A) and Jesse Gauthier (2G) each scored twice while Lucas Achim (3A), Mederic Allard (1G, 2A), and Tibor Nemeth (1G, 2A) each had three points. Maverick Boucher (1G, 1A) and Jordan Laroda (1G, 1A) tallied two point games for OHO in the loss. Elliot Boulianne (29/33) made 29 saves in the win. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U15 Prep

Kayden Runstedler (1G, 1A) and Sean Murphy (2G, 1A) scored within the first 10 minutes as North Shore led 2-0 after 20. Jack Crosman would score with nine seconds remaining in the middle period as PCHA cut the deficit heading into the third. But Murphy would score his second goal of the season and Oscar Hicik (40/41) made 40 saves to secure a North Shore win. Lynden Mercier (48/51) made 48 saves in the loss. 

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (0) U15 Prep

Gavin Hildebrand (32/32) made 32 saves to earn his first win and shutout of the 2023/24 season. Brady Tobert (25/27) kept PMHA off the board for 50 minutes before Maddox Ramage finally broke through. Sam Carnegie would score two minutes later and Gavin Noseworthy would add an empty net goal in the final minute. 

Ontario Hockey Academy White (1) vs Champions Hockey Academy (11) Eastern U17

In their second game against each other today,Champions defeated OHA White 11-1, outscoring them 19-3 on the day. Max Patenaude (2G, 2A) and Bryson Robinson (2G) each scored twice and Carter Clarke (1G, 3A) and Declan Kennedy (1G, 3A) added three assists. Nolan Mason scored the lone goal in the win. All but one Champions skater recorded a point in the win. 

BWC Academy (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Jase Johnstone (1G, 1A) gave PCHA a solo first period goal before Nolan Gray (1G, 1A), Ty Bonkowski (1G, 1A) and Ryan Harris scored in the first 5:12 of the second period as BWC Academy grabbed a 3-1 lead. But Brendon Hall (2G) would score twice to close out the period and tie the game. Noah Kosick (1G, 2A) and Colton Gerrior traded goals as the game remained tied midway through the third. Ryker Rougeau would keep the PCHA a perfect 3-for-3 with a late third period marker, giving his team a 5-4 win. 

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) vs Notre Dame (1) U15 Prep

Cohen Lewko (1G, 1A) and Nolan Harding gave RHA Winnipeg a 2-0 lead with first period goals. Notre Dame forward Luke White scored his fourth of the season to bring his team within one heading into the third. Graeme Tenhunen would score his first of the season on the power play early in the third to secure a 3-1 RHA Winnipeg victory. 

Edge School (5) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

SAHA led 2-1 after 20 thanks to goals from Caleb Leichsner and Wyatt Yule. Maxim Shushkov would tie the game midway through the second period. Logan Murray (2G, 1A) would score the eventual game winner just 19 seconds into the third and Landon DuPont (1G, 1A) and Cruz Pavao (1G, 1A) would score insurance markers 13 seconds apart in the closing minutes of the game. 

Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Prairie Hockey Academy White (2) U17 Prep

Trystan Hunter and River Arnason (2G) scored early for RHA Winnipeg while Rylan Emigh countered late in the first for PHA White. Austin Gammon (1G, 1A) would tie the game in the second but Carter Haney (1G, 1A) and Arnason would score late third period goals as RHA Winnipeg pulled away for a 4-2 win. 

North Shore Warriors (3) vs BWC Academy (4/SO) U15

Sunjai Sharma (1G, 1A) scored 1:56 in and Haydn Goetzinger scored just minutes later as BWC Academy jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Kenzo Gibson (2G, 1A) would get North Shore on the board midway through the second before Bradey Ching restored the two goal lead. Gibson would close out the second with a goal to bring NSW within one. Alexander Brent would score his first goal of the season with 6:03 remaining to tie the game and force OT. After OT solved nothing, Mya Young (37/40) stopped all the North Shore shooters as BWC Academy came away with a 4-3 win. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy White (1) vs Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Red (10) U17 Prep

Rhett Tubello (4G, 1A) paved the way with a five point night in a RHA Kelowna Red 10-1 win. Porter Rossi (1G, 3A) added four points and Levi Hollatz (20/21) made 20 saves in net for his second win of the season. Tobie Gilchrist scored the lone PCHA White goal.
