Game Day Recap: November 24-25, 2021

CIH U18 (1) vs Ontario Hockey Academy U18 (13) Eastern

OHA put on an offensive clinic, registering 63 shots in a 13-1 win over CIH. Aidan Brewer (3G,1A) recorded a hattrick to lead the way while Zeteny Molnar (1G,3A) and Braeden O’Keefe (2G,2A) each recorded four points. Petar Simic (2G,1A) and Vincent Ouellet (26/27) also played key parts in the win. Sergei Kolesov scored the lone CIH goal. 

Notre Dame (3) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (7) U16 Prep

Notre Dame jumped out to a 2-0 lead but Prairie would score seven straight goals to earn the 7-3 win. Dylan Duzan (2G,1A) got the Prairie goal scoring party started with just one second left in the opening period. Forwards Chance Cole (2A) and Nolan Kearns (2A) were the only other PHA players to record multiple points, and Willy Broda made 28 saves in the win. Finn Carlstedt (1G,1A), Bowman Klippenstein and Taye Shukin all scored for Notre Dame, while Danila Shiriaev (3A) played a part in every Hounds goal.  

Bourget College U17 (8) vs CIH U17 (3) Eastern

Bourget outshot CIH 39-20 in a 8-3 win Wednesday night. CIH held both a 1-0 and 2-1 lead into the second, but Bourget would score seven straight goals, including five in the third. All but two Bourget players got involved offensively with Ethan Albert (1G,1A), Adam Belzil (1G,1A), Simon Konylecki (1G,1A), Gavin McLenaghan (2G), and Marc-Antoine Riopel (1G,1A) all recording multi point games. Max Argandona (1G,1A), Jared Georgekish (1G,1A), and Koichiro Matsudaira all scored for CIH.

Notre Dame (5) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep

Prairie scored the lone first period goal 3:24 into the game when Devun Oifert (2G) found the back of the net. Notre Dame would respond with two second period goals from Tavynn Schlaht (3G), and one from Ryan Zabchuk as they would hold a 3-2 lead heading into the third. Nicolas Karczmiarz would score his ninth of the year to extend the lead, while Schlaht would record the hattrick with one second left in the game. Andrew Kreis made 27 saves in the win.

Mount Academy U16 (4) vs Bourget College U18 (7) Eastern

Bourget scored twice 30 seconds apart early in the first but it was Mount Academy who held a lead after 20 thanks to goals from Michael Arsenault (1G,1A), Thatcher Hughes (1G,1A) and Matthew Hebert. Emile Tremblay (1G,1A) would tie the game just 59 seconds into the second, and Jordan Waite (2G) and Anoushan Mugunthan (1G,2A) would give Bourget a 5-3 lead heading into the third. Mount would get one back in the final 20 but it wasn’t enough as Bourget would add two more in the final frame. 

Mount Academy U18 #2 (5) vs Ontario Hockey Academy U17 (1) Eastern

Owen Underhill (2G,2A) scored twice 1:23 apart to give Mount an early 2-0 lead. Jeremie Ndeffo would score with three seconds left to bring OHA within one heading into the second, but Mount Academy would score two goals in each of the remaining periods to claim a 5-1 victory. Alex Kelloway (1G,2A) tallied three points and Michael-Anthony Ramsay made 28 saves to earn the win. 

Okanagan Hockey Ontario U18 (3/OT) vs CIH Academy U17 (2) Eastern 

Jared Georgekish scored the first goal of the game with 1:09 remaining in the second to give CIH a 1-0 lead. OHO would tie the game and then take the lead early in the third on goals from Joshua Penney (2G) and Damiano Metastasio. Liam Lynn would score with just under five minutes remaining to tie the game once again and force overtime. Overtime was short lived as Penney scored his second of the game just 53 seconds into the extra frame. Ben Grahame made 24 saves to pick up his third win of the year. 

Edge School (5) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U15

With a 5-3 win Edge School handed NAX their first regulation loss of the season. Edge would hold 1-0 and 2-1 leads before Eric Ripka scored with one second left in the second period to tie the game. But Edge would score three straight goals to grab a 5-2 lead thanks to goals from Brendan Rudolph, Oliver McMillan, and Kyle Oakenfold. NAX would get a laste consolation goal with 21 seconds left but Edge would hang on for the 5-3 win. Cole Prelusky earned the win making 38 saves. 

CIH Academy U18 (2) vs Mount Academy U18 #1 (9) Eastern

Noah Morency (2G) scored just 28 seconds in as the Mount Academy offence exploded for a nine goal outburst. CIH briefly tied the game in the first and at one point only trailed 3-2, but playing in their second game of the day the legs seemed to run out as Mount Academy scored six straight goals to close out the game. Isaac Tremblay (3A) and Jano Zambakdjian (1G,2A) each had three point afternoons while Jack Flanagan made 31 saves in the win. Angelo Donzella and Giovanni Mandruzzato scored for CIH in the loss. 

Ontario Hockey Academy U18 (4) vs Bourget College U17 (1) Eastern

Borisov Vadim made 41 saves and OHA scored four times on 50 shots as they defeated Bourget College. OHA jumped out to an early lead 1:30 in as Braeden O’Keefe (1G,1A) scored his 13th of the season. Pier-Olivier Allard (2G) and Zeteny Molnar (1G,1A) extended the lead to 3-0 before Adam Belzil responded for Bourget. Allard would end any Bourget comeback chances, scoring his second of the game with 1:25 left.
