GAME DAY RECAP: November 16-17, 2022

Ontario Hockey Academy U17 Maroon (11) vs CIH U17 (1) Eastern U17

OHA outshot CIH 48-25 in an 11-1 win Wednesday afternoon. Hugo Allard (3G, 4A) and Cole Shepherdson (4G, 2A) lead all skaters with seven and six points respectively. Daniel McGowan (37/48) held OHA to just one goal in the first, before OHA exploded for five goals in each of the remaining two periods. Neil Iserhoff ended the Jacob Duff (24/25) shutout bid with less than five minutes remaining in the game.

Prairie Hockey Academy (4) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (2) U17 Prep

Austin Wentz (2G) opened the scoring for PHA just 35 seconds in but a Daine Thomas marker six minutes later tied the game heading into the second. After a scoreless second, Lukas Borne (2G) would score twice and Wentz would add another tally late as PHA defeated ISA 4-2. Luke McKenchnie (35/37) was in net for the win, while Marcus Scott (43/47) stopped 43 shots in the loss.

International Hockey Academy (5/SO) vs Edge School (4) U17 Prep

Both teams would score once in the first and a scoreless second would set-up an entertaining third period. Tason Swampy (1G, 3A) would score for IHA 2:06 into the third before Tyler Deakos (3G) would score back to back goals for Edge. Kayden Big Plume (1G, 1A) would tie the game midway through the frame before Deakos would complete the hattrick with a shorthanded tally. Michiel Leenders would tie the game with just 36 seconds remaining to force OT. OT would solve nothing and Jacob Horb and Leenders would both score in the shootout to give IHA the 5-4 win.
