GAME DAY RECAP: January 23-26, 2024

Bourget College (3/OT) vs Ulysse Academie (2) Eastern U18 

Jack Barrington (31/33) and Zachary Bergeron (34/37) kept clean sheets through the first 45 minutes of play before Krystopher Roy (2G) and Bourget struck first. Marco Campo evened the score 4:08 later but a quick response from Roy restored the Bourget lead. Emile Dupuis first goal of the season tied the game late and forced overtime. In the extra period Ian Burnett (1G, 1A) scored his second goal of the season to give Bourget the 3-2 victory. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (5) U15 Prep

After a scoreless first Raeya Mackie opened the scoring 4:56 into the second with her first of the season. Cache Thomas tied the game before Dalin Nixon (2G) and Darwin Ketch (3G) traded goals at the end of the period. Nixon scored a power play goal 4:23 into the third as PCHA re-gained the lead but Ketch scored two power play goals of his own to complete the hat-trick and put Shawnigan on top. Carson Peet (1G, 3A) added an empty net goal just eight seconds later to secure the Shawnigan win. Liam Chamberlain (23/26) and Lynden Mercier (17/21) were in net for their respective teams. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U15

Brady Ondrus, Easton Doran (1G, 1A), Easton Arndt (1G, 2A) and Kaysun Brunham scored first period goals as NAX led 4-0. Teagen Bouchard added a second period goal before Liam McFadden got OHA Edmonton on the board 9:22 into the middle frame. Kyle Denis and Joel Ngandu traded goals 1:01 apart to close out the period. Bronsyn Mouille (1G, 1A) scored the lone third period goal as NAX skated to a 7-2 win. Tyson Moreland (20/22) made 20 saves for the win. 

King Heights Academy U18 (0) vs Ulysse Academie U18 (4) Eastern U18

Anthony Dwane Georges scored his first goal of the season as Ulysse led 1-0 after 20. Jeremy Lamothe (1G, 2A) and Maverick Roux-Parenteau (1G, 1A) each scored second period goals to increase the deficit to three. Clement Valette (1G, 1A) scored his eighth of the season late in the third and Victor Larin (14/14) finished with 14 saves for his first shutout of the season as Ulysse defeated KHA 4-0. Justin Sullivan (50/54) made 50 saves in the loss. 

Yale Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U15 Prep

Sean Murphy gave North Shore an early advantage but Yale led 2-1 after 20 thanks to goals from Matteo Di Stefano and Jacob Dumansky (1G, 1A). After a scoreless second Ollie Reid (2G, 1A) scored twice and Tanner Massey added a goal of his own a minute later to extend the lead. Chase Vossenaar quickly replied and Nash Dickson brought North Shore back within striking distance but they were unable to find the equalizer as Christiano Pelegrin-Hicks (15/18) made 15 saves to give Yale a 5-3 win. Oscar Hicik (37/42) faced 42 shots in defeat. 

Notre Dame (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) U18 Prep

RHA Winnipeg cruised to an 8-2 win thanks to a Koy Funk (3G) hat-trick and three assist games from Lucas Bertolin (3A) and Leo Seitz (3A). Defensemen Ayden Collins (2A) and Reece Gault (2A) each chipped in with two assists and Chase Furlong (30/32) made 30 saves in net for RHA Winnipeg. Adiyat Massen and Fran Romano were the Notre Dame goal scorers. Logan Salamondra (52/60) made 52 saves in the loss. 

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep

RHA Kelowna outshot OHA 74-9 en route to a 6-1 victory Friday. Makayla Watson scored just eight seconds into the game while Taya MacDonald (2G) added two first period tallies. Grace Littler got OHA on the board 3:39 into the second with her third goal of the season but Emelia McDermid countered with a goal of her own. Ava MacLeod (1G, 1A) and Gracie Graham (1G, 2A) scored third period goals for RHA Kelowna in the win. Madison Bowtell (8/9) and Jaya Schippel (68/74) were in net for their respective teams. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) vs Shawnigan Lake School (1) U15 Prep

Tristan Follick (2G, 1A) and Tyson Jeske scored for PCHA as they led 2-0 5:35 into the second period. Carson Peet scored late in the second to get Shawnigan on the board, beating Logan MacLean (12/13) for his fifth of the season. Sloan Harder (2G) scored twice early in the third before Follick and Dalin Nixon added empty net goals six seconds apart in the dying seconds of the game as PCHA defeated Shawnigan 6-1. Donagh Esler-Twiss (22/26) made 22 saves in the loss. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep

Gibson Horne (14/14) made 14 saves for his first shutout of the 2023/24 season as PHA defeated Pilot Mound 6-0. Presley Langevin, Easton Banda and Avery Johnson (1G, 1A) scored in the first, Louis Nadeau (1G, 1A) and William Roddick (1G, 1A) in the second and Trace Langan provided the offence in the third. Quinn Burfoot (53/59) made 53 saves in the loss. 

Edge School (6) vs Notre Dame (1) U15

After a scoreless first Andrew Ragusa (4G) needed just 7:23 to record a natural hat-trick midway through the second period. Kingston Lawford and Easton Perzylo (2G) scored goals 1:15 apart to close out the second period with Edge leading 4-1. Ragusa added his 19th of the season and fourth of the game 4:13 into the third and Perzylo netted his second just 1:35 later. Delano Pockar (28/29) made 28 saves for the win while Louis Barbes (38/44) was charged with the loss. 

OHA Edmonton (3) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Cale Chimera (3G) scored just nine seconds in for OHA Edmonton but SAHA led 2-1 after 20 on goals from Ty Wasyluk and Garrison Peck (1G, 2A). Jacob Penley and Chimera would trade second period goals as the game remained a one goal difference. Cole Fisher (2G, 1A) and Kingston Chisholm (1G, 2A) extended the lead early in the third before Chimera completed the hat-trick 46 seconds later. But Fisher would add another and Koen Gauthier (1G, 1A) recorded his fifth of the season to kill any OHA Edmonton comeback dreams. Mattias Radke (25/28) made 25 saves for the win. 

Shawnigan Lake School (9) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) Female U18 Prep

Alexandra Nelson (6/6) was tasked with making just six saves to record her second shutout of the season as Shawnigan defeated OHA Black 9-0. Gracie Szadkowski (2G) scored twice while Morgan Jackson (1G, 3A) and Taya Lonsdale (1G, 3A) led all skaters with four points. Mya Lesage (49/58) faced 58 shots in the loss. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Blue (3) vs BWC Academy Gold (7) U17 Prep

Javien Mann (3G, 1A) scored twice and Jack Tudhope (1G, 1A) added his fourth of the season as BWC Academy Gold jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead. Parson Shahi and Jed Lake each scored their 21st of the season as PCHA Blue climbed within one. Mann completed the hat-trick minutes later before Maxwell Hoey (1G, 1A) found the back of the net for the third time this season for PCHA Blue. A late Jonathan Bitonti (2G) goal gave BWC Academy Gold a 5-3 lead going into the third. The third would start like the second ended as Bitonti found the back of the net once again. Kai Anderson added a late power play goal to put the game well out of reach. 

Delta Hockey Academy Green (6) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep

Delta Green led 2-0 after the first thanks to goals from Lukas Lima (3G, 2A) and Max Malinousky (1G, 3A). Lima opened the scoring in the second with Milan Mrsic (1G, 1A) and Dalton Toma (1G, 1A) chipping in goals of their own. Lima completed the hat-trick with the lone third period tally and Greyson Moroz (25/25) made 25 saves for his first shutout of the season. Austin Neill (40/46) faced 46 shots in the loss.
