Four Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes have signed with the Flin Flon Bombers for the 2022/23 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season.
Logy Bay, NL forward Liam Bridger spent the 2021/22 CSSHL season with the Shawnigan Lake School U18 Prep team. In 36 games Bridger finished with a team high 17 goals. His 34 points were first among Shawnigan Lake forwards, and second on the team.
Lucas Byrne spent five seasons in the CSSHL with Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA). He would join the program in 2017/18, tallying 20 points in 30 U15 games. He would follow that up with 18 points in 29 U15 Prep games the following year before recording 35 points in 31 U16 Prep games in 2019/20. The Penticton, BC forward spent the last two seasons playing for the OHA U18 Prep team, recording 33 points in 45 games.
A defenseman from Chelyabinsk, Russia, Andrey Manov played five seasons in the CSSHL split between West Van Academy and BWC Academy. Manov would play three seasons with West Van, recording 10 points in 30 U15 games during the 2017/18 season, and 3 points in 31 U16 Prep games the following season. He would add 11 points in 35 U18 Prep games for West Van during the 2019/20 season, before joining BWC Academy’s U18 Prep team for the 2020/21 and 2021/22 campaigns. In 29 regular games this season Manov would lead all BWC Academy defensemen with 6 goals and 22 points. Manov would add one assist in five playoff games as BWC Academy captured a U18 Prep CSSHL League Championship.
An eighth round pick, 170th overall by the Moose Jaw Warriors at the 2019 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Carter McLeod has played the last four seasons for Edge School. Joining the program in 2018/19, the Yellowknife, NWT forward would record 18 points in 30 U15 Prep games. He would tally 22 points in 33 U16 Prep games the following season, before spending the last two years with the Edge School U18 Prep team, amassing 24 points in 38 games.
