Former Yale Forward Signs with Capitals

Former Yale Hockey Academy forward Zac Funk has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Washington Capitals.

Funk spent the 2017/18 season with the Yale U15 Prep team where he finished third in scoring with 52 points in 28 games. At the conclusion of the season the Calgary Hitmen would select Funk with a second round pick at the 2018 WHL Draft.

The Vernon, BC product would go on to spend three seasons with the Hitmen, tallying 98 points in 117 games. Midway through last season he would join the Prince George Cougars, finishing with 26 points in 31 games.

Undrafted to the NHL, Funk leads the WHL with 59 goals while his 103 points are second among all skaters.
