Former Shawnigan Forward Commits to Yale University

Former Shawnigan Lake School forward Seiya Tanaka-Campbell has committed to Yale University for the 2023/24 season.

Tanaka-Campbell played five seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Shawnigan Lake. The Mill Bay, BC product joined the program in 2016/17 recording 7 points in 17 U15 Prep games. The following U15 Prep season he would tally 15 goals and 12 assists in 30 games.

In 2018/19 Tanaka-Campbell would join the Shawnigan U18 Prep team finishing with 25 points in 29 games. During the 2019/20 season Tanaka-Campbell would finish second in team scoring with 59 points in 35 games while being named to the CSSHL U18 Prep All-Academic Team and capturing the CSSHL U18 Prep Most Sportsmanlike Player award.

Tanaka-Campbell would return to Shawnigan for the 2020/21 U18 Prep season but the team would not play any games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yale University is a private Ivy League research university in New Haven, Connecticut. Yale University is an NCAA Division I program competing in the ECAC Hockey conference.
