Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes Kendal Davidson and Maddie Leaney have committed to Union College for the 2023/24 season.
Davidson has spent the last three seasons in the CSSHL with the South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA) Female U18 Prep team. During the 2021/22 season she would record 11 goals and 8 assists in 25 games. She would go on to add one goal and four assists in three playoff games at the 2022 CSSHL Western Championships.
This season Davidson would finish second in team scoring with a career high 21 points in 26 games. The Lethbridge, AB defenseman would add two goals and one assist in four playoff games as SAHA made it to the semi-finals of the 2023 CSSHL Western Championships. At the conclusion of the season Davidson was voted as the CSSHL Female U18 Prep Division Top Defenseman Award Winner.
A forward from Maple Ridge, BC, Leaney joined RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna for the 2022/23 Female U18 Prep season. Leaney would finish the season with 13 goals and 16 assists in 30 regular season games. During the 2023 CSSHL Western Championships she would score four times and add three assists in five games as RHA Kelowna captured the Female U18 Prep Championship.
Located in Schenectady, New York, Union College competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as an NCAA Division I program.
