CSSHL grad Brar commits to Merrimack

Canadian Sport School Hockey League graduate Benjamin Brar has committed to attend and play NCAA hockey at Merrimack College.

Brar, 20, attended the Yale Hockey Academy from 2013-2015.

During the 2014-15 season, he posted 59 points (29-30-59) in 28 games with the Yale Hockey Academy Midget Prep team.

The previous season, Brar had 31 points (18-13-31) in 24 games, as well as five points (3-25-) in two post-season games, helping his team capture the 2014 CSSHL Elite 15 Division Championship.

Brar is currently in his fourth season in the BCHL and third season with the Prince George Spruce Kings. In 211 career BCHL games, the Abbotsford, BC product has accumulated 138 points (75-63-138).

Located in North Andover, Massachusetts, Merrimack College’s men’s ice hockey program competes in the NCAA Division I Hockey East Conference. Since joining the Hockey East Conference in 1989, they have qualified for one NCAA Tournament, in 2011.
