Canadian Sport School Hockey League alum Derek Krall has committed to attend and play NCAA hockey at the University of Alabama-Huntsville next season.
Krall, 21, attended Shawnigan Lake School during the 2016-17 CSSHL season. In 20 appearances, the six-foot goaltender posted an 8-9-2 record with a 3.30 goals-against average, .893 save-percentage and two shutouts.
The Crofton, B.C. product spent the past two seasons in the BCHL split between the Penticton Vees and Powell River Kings. In 55 career BCHL regular season games, Krall amassed a record of 32-15-0 along with a 2.65 goals-against average, .913 save-percentage and three shutouts.
