The Spokane Chiefs have signed Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) defenseman Owen Schoettler to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Schoettler has spent the last three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with NAX, joining the program for the 2020/21 U15 Prep season. He would return to the NAX U15 Prep team the following season recording 6 goals and 28 assists in 27 games. At the conclusion of the season the Chiefs would select the Edmonton, AB blueliner in the fourth round, 71st overall at the 2022 WHL Draft.
This season Schoettler has played 31 U17 Prep games with NAX, tallying 8 goals and 24 assists.
