The Saskatoon Blades have signed Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) defenseman Nathan Guenther to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Guenther joined NAX in 2021/22 for the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U15 season. In 27 games Guenther recorded 7 goals and 18 assists as he was nominated for the divisions Top Defenseman Award.
This season the Edmonton, AB product would play in 30 U15 Prep games, scoring 5 times and adding 24 assists. He would produce six points in five playoff games as NAX captured the 2023 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championships.
The Blades selected Guenther in the fourth round, 70th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.
Nathan is the younger brother of Arizona Coyotes forward and Team Canada World Juniors Gold Medalist Dylan Guenther.
