Kevin Bathurst has been named as the head coach of the Okanagan Lakers for the team’s inaugural season.
Bathurst has been coaching in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna U17 Prep team since 2018 and currently serves as the programs Camp Coordinator. Prior to his time with RINK Kelowna he spent five years with Edge School in Calgary, AB.
Bathurst is NCCP High Performance I certified and has over 14 years of sport leadership experience including coaching, scouting and management at U SPORT, Junior A, Junior B and CSSHL levels.
The Lakers are an expansion team entering the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) for the 2021/22 season. As a collegiate transfer team, the Lakers are full time student-athletes registered at UBC Okanagan and Okanagan College.
