Edge School Alum Signs AHL Deal

Edge School alum Tristen Nielsen has signed an American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Abbotsford Canucks.

Nielsen played for Edge School for three seasons including two in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) from 2014-2016. In 40 CSSHL games at the U15 Prep and U18 Prep levels, Nielsen recorded 48 points.

In 2015 he was selected in the first round, 20th overall in the Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft by the Calgary Hitmen. He would play for the Hitmen for parts of three seasons beginning in 2016/17, before being traded to the Vancouver Giants during the 2018/19 season. He would finish his WHL career this past season with the Giants. In 241 games the Fort St. John, BC forward tallied 82 goals and 93 assists.
