The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and accountable, highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, payroll, GST, financial reporting and preparing records for yearly audits.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will be responsible for:

Setting up and maintaining financial records using QuickBooks
Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, and maintain general ledgers
Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls, supplier invoices, government remittances as well as other expenditures
Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms and other government documents
Billing and accounts receivable follow up
Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Experience in working from a satellite location to obtain desired results
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to work independently as well as with a team
Self-starter, dependable and capable of performing under pressure
Experience in QuickBooks, payroll deductions, GST filing and preparing for yearly financial audits

About Us

The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) was established in 2009 and has grown to feature 27 Hockey Canada Accredited Schools/Hockey Canada School with Residence and 86 teams across eight Canadian provinces as well as the state of Idaho. The league was designed specifically for student athletes, giving them the opportunity to increase their skills off and on the ice, while also providing them with a high level of competition and exposure. Currently, the CSSHL includes seven different divisions at the Bantam, Midget and Female levels.
