RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna student-athlete Keaton Verhoeff has signed a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Victoria Royals after they selected him in the first round, fourth overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.
Verhoeff spent the 2022/23 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) season as captain of the RHA Kelowna U15 Prep team. In 27 games the Fort Saskatchewan, AB defenseman recorded 13 goals and 33 assists for a total of 46 points, good enough for third among CSSHL defensemen.
Verhoeff would add seven points in five playoff games as RHA Kelowna made it to the finals of the 2023 CSSHL Western Championships.
