Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Reid Varkonyi has signed with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the 2022/23 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.
Varkonyi spent three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), joining NAX for the 2019/20 U15 Prep campaign. He would spend two years with the NAX U15 Prep team, recording 34 points in 33 games. The Sherwood Park, AB forward would spend this past season with the NAX U18 Prep team, finishing seventh in league scoring with 56 points in 34 games.
The Portland Winterhawks selected Varkonyi in the third round of the 2021 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.
