Two Okanagan Hockey alumnae Selected to Team Canada Olympic Centralization Roster

Hockey Canada announced that 28 female players have been selected to centralize in Calgary for the 2021-22 season, leading up to the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China February 4-20.

Emily Clark and Micah Zandee-Hart, who are 2 of the 28 participants, both spent time with the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) Female U18 Prep program.

Clark was with OHA for the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. She has won two U18 gold medals, three World Championship silvers and one bronze, and a silver medal at the 2018 Olympics.

Zandee-Hart spent four seasons with OHA from 2011-2015. Zandee-Hart has a U18 gold and silver medals, to go along with a World Championship bronze.

Both skaters were among six players who spent time with current CSSHL member programs who had recently been invited to attend the BFL National Women’s Team Selection Camp with the opportunity to represent Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF Women’s World Championship at the beginning of May in Halifax. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was postponed until the end of August.

The 2021/22 centralized season will see Team Canada play games against the United States and Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) teams.

The final 23 player roster selected to represent Team Canada in Beijing is expected to be announced in December.
