NAX Captures First U15 Western Championship

The Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) beat Yale Hockey Academy 5-1 to capture their first ever Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U15 Western Championships.

After a scoreless first Kale Breton gave NAX the lead 2:49 into the second when he collected a puck in front, made a move to his backhand and slid it past Aiden Lazazzera (29/34). Daniel Havard would would get Yale on the board late in the second period when Adrian Comeau found him in front and Havard slid the puck through Cam Hoose’s ((35/36) legs.

Yale would control the opening minutes of the third period before Breton scored his second goal of the game on a lucky bounce with 7:55 remaining. With time winding down, Blake Wilejto would be left all alone in front and make no mistake to add a power play goal for NAX with 1:51 remaining. Jaggar John would secure the win with an empty net goal with 55 seconds left.
