GAME DAY RECAP: December 11, 2022

OHA Edmonton (0) vs Edge School (5) U15 Prep

Marcus Vo scored twice and added an assist for Edge School, Owen Cooper scored a pair, and Chris Wright notched his seventh goal of the season in the win. Cole Prelusky stopped all 36-shots he faced between the pipes to register his ninth win of the season for Edge School.

Yale Hockey Academy (8) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy picked up their 12th win of the season with a big win over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy. Lucas Biros had a four-point game with two goals and two assists while Levi Benson had similar, with a goal and three assists for YHA. Marco Depindra had a goal and added two helpers, while Jacob Morrison scored two goals in the game. Nate Stevens picked up the win in net, turning aside 13 shots on 14 attempts.

Yale Hockey Academy (5 / SO) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U15

The game was back-and-forth throughout with the score 2-2 heading into the third period. Daniel Havard and Shaun Hildebrandt (PP) both scored to give Yale Hockey Academy a 4-2 lead, but it was answered by Christian Sum and Beckett Matlock (PP) who both scored to tie the game for Delta Hockey Academy. A shootout would be required to determine a winner, where Adrian Comeau scored the game-winner for Yale Hockey Academy.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U16 Prep

Okanagan Hockey Academy picked up their 12th win of the season with the win on Sunday. Cameron Norrie led the way with a four-point game, scoring two goals and two assists, Tucker Robertson had a goal and an assist, while Tate Wilkinson and Bradley Schmidt rounded out the scoring. Jonah Tonhauser made 25-saves between the pipes to pick up the win for OHA. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) vs Notre Dame (1) U17 Prep

David Hoy registered a natural hat-trick scoring three goals in the first period to give Okanagan Hockey Academy the lead after twenty minutes. Peyton Dickie and Charlie Grant added to the lead in the second period and Jacob Selent scored in the third period of OHA. Ryan Tamelin stopped 20 of 21 shots to pick up the win in net.

BWC Academy (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

Brayden Ryan-Mackay had two goals and two assists for Yale Hockey Academy while Kaeden Kalkat added a pair of goals in the win. Ethan Caruso and Ryker Swanson recorded a goal and an assist each in the contest. Aiden Eskit turned aside 20-shots to record the win in net for YHA.

Notre Dame (1) vs Edge School (5) U18 Prep

Terik Parascak scored his 24th goal of the season for Edge in the win, while Ashton Gallagher (PP), Luke McCrady, Miles Cooper (PP), and Jackson Smith all lit the lamp. Rhys Osicki scored the lone goal for Notre Dame, with his fifth goal of the season. Noah Davis made 19-saves between the pipes to record the win. 

RHA Winnipeg (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3 / OT) U15 Prep

Maddox Malmquist scored his ninth goal of the season for RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and Koy Funk notched his 13th of the year. In response, Tucker Tullikopf and Nolan Steward found the back of the net for Northern Alberta Xtreme, to force overtime. In the extra frame Jordan Duguay scored his eighth goal of the season to win the game for NAX.

RHA Kelowna (3) vs St. George’s School (4 / SO) U18 Prep

Zach Zapanta, Connor Pankratz and Jussi Saarni all scored for St. George’s School, while Jesse Fader added three assists. On the other side, John Franceschetti scored twice and Maddox Wattson added a solo tally for RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna. Extra time would be required to determine a winner where, in the shootout, Trace Frieden would score the goal that was the difference for St. George’s School. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs St. George’s School (1) U17 Prep

Northern Alberta Xtreme won their 17th game of the season with a big offensive output on Sunday afternoon. Seven different skaters scored for NAX, with Lukas Kaplan leading the way with a three-point performance adding a goal and two assists. Ryan Grout turned aside 23-shots for his third-straight win between the pipes for Northern Alberta Xtreme.

Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs International Hockey Academy (7 / SO)  U18 Prep

Max Sullivan and Arad Badamchi Zadeh had two goals apiece for International Hockey Academy, while Ethan Adair added three assists in the game. Caleb Lepitre had a three-point game for Prairie Hockey Academy scoring a goal and two assists in the contest. A shootout would be needed in this one, where Adair would play the hero, scoring on his attempt to win the game for IHA.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (4) U15 Prep

After a scoreless first Parson Shahi scored for PCHA 4:10 into the second. Lukas Lima (1G, 1A) would score his seventh of the season late in the second to tie the game heading into the third. Max Malinousky and Madden Cruickshank would trade goals as the game remained tied midway through the third. Nate Gray would score the eventual game winner with less than seven minutes to play, and Noah Hoglund would add an insurance marker late in the period. Ashton Thornton (16/18) was in net for the win. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs BWC Academy (2) U16 Prep

Nicholas Drapack and Reece Miyoshi would each score for their respective teams as the first ended tied 1-1. Jed Lake (1G, 2A) would score the lone second period goal 1:21 in to give PCHA a lead heading into the third. Cooper Stockdale would tie the game early in the final period, but Elliot Lee would score his first of the season and Gage Dunning would score 36 seconds after that as PCHA defeated BWC Academy 4-2. Ander Reyes (35/37) made 35 stops as PCHA was outshot 37-19.

Edge School (8) vs OHA Edmonton(0) U16 Prep

Lucas Frame (5A) and Lachlan Hanton (3G, 2A) would pace the Edge offence with five points each and Adler Ames (24/24) would stop all 24 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season. Raiden Ikebuchi (1G, 1A) and Liam Newcomb (2A) recorded multi point games in the win. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Jack Bodel would score the game’s first goal 7:25 in before Noah Thul tied the game 10 minutes later. Koen Cleaver (22/23) and Luke McKechnie (38/40) would keep the game tied heading into the third before Parker MacDougall (1G, 1A) scored his 16th goal of the season 2:08 into the final frame as PCHA defeated PHA 2-1. 

Edge School (6) vs OHA Edmonton (5) U15

A high scoring affair saw Edge come out on top with a 6-5 victory over OHA Edmonton. Mirco Dufour (2G, 2A) led all skaters with four points while teammates Luke Jamieson (2A) and Henry Unruh (2A) each had two assists. Jihwan Kim (1G, 2A) and Tyson Chrunik (3G) each had three points for OHA Edmonton in the loss. Carsten Leyerzapf (42/47) made 42 stops to earn the win. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy (3) U18 Prep

Koji Gibson (2G) scored twice, Brogan Pilgaard-Kennedy chipped in with a goal of his own, and Aidan Fischer (18/19) earned his seventh win of the season as BWC Academy beat OHA 3-1. Stein Dostal scored the lone OHA goal and Nathan Preston (34/37) made 34 saves in the loss. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (2) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (8) U15 Prep

Dwight Sawatzky (2G) and Hank Thompson (2G) each scored twice, Zachary Rogers (17/19) made 17 saves, and Luke Adam (2A) contributed two assists as PMHA defeated PHA 8-2. Boone Bender and Kane Domres scored the Prairie goals, while John Gall (44/52) made 44 saves in the loss. 

International Hockey Academy (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (7) U17 Prep

IHA outshot Shawnigan Lake 39-32 but backed by a 36 save performance from Mathis Perron (36/39) Shawnigan would skate to a 7-3 win. Brendyn Van Oene (5G, 1A) scored five goals while Eliot Compton (5A) had five assists to carry the SLS offence. Jacob Horb, Samuel Laplante and Moses Larribeau  scored the goals for IHA. 

RHA Kelowna (7) vs Delta Hockey Academy (2) U16 Prep

After a scoreless first Luca Cupello scored 57 seconds into the middle frame, while Luke Silvernagle and Owen Downey extended the RHA Kelowna lead just over five minutes into the period. Teghan Mullin (1G, 2A) would open the third period scoring before Jasper Fellbaum finally got Delta on the board. But Cole Serdachny (2G, 2A) would score just eight seconds later and Tristen Bailey (1G, 3A) would add another RHA Kelowna goal 43 seconds after that. Kyle Mayenburg would get one more for Delta, and a late Serdachny goal saw the game end 7-2. 

BWC Academy (6) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (2) U17 Prep

After his hattrick performance yesterday, Will Shepard (2G) scored twice today in a 6-2 BWC Academy win. Peyton Dorman (2G, 1A) scored twice as well while Ashton Beriana (2A) and Liam Loughery (2A) each had two assists. Rowen Alberts and Sage Roberts (1G, 1A) each scored for ISA in the loss. Josh Vallee (15/17) earned the win, while Marcus Scott (27/33) was in net for the loss. 

OHA Edmonton (1) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep

Corbin Sanderman (45/45) made 45 saves to shutout CDA in a 1-0 OHA Edmonton win. Sanjay Chalupiak scored his seventh goal of the season, 4:25 into the first, to provide OHA Edmonton with all of the offence they would need. Zane Hill (22/23) was in net for CDA in the loss. 

RHA Kelowna (4) vs Edge School (0) U17 Prep

Thomas MacLean (28/28) earned his second shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Edge School. Dylan Ruff (2G) scored 56 seconds in and Jackson Roberts added to the lead 3:05 later. Brayden Rotach would score the lone powerplay goal in the second period, and Ruff would add his second later in that same period. Ryker Rougeau (2A) had two assists in the win. 

Wenatchee Wild 16U (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Delta would outshoot Wenatchee 49-9 en route to a 7-1 victory Sunday night. Jackson DeGraves (4G) and Jovan Sandhu (1G, 3A) each had four points in the victory, while Jack Ferguson (3A) added three points of his own. Max Workman scored the lone Wenatchee goal, beating Mathias Hasselmann (8/9) in the second period.
