Game Day Recap – December 10, 2022

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Edge School (3) U16 Prep

Tyler Auger scored the lone first period goal before Asher Watson tied the game early in the first. Lincoln Martin and Lachlan Hanton would respond for Edge, but a late second period goal by Ryland Molde would bring Prairie within one heading into the third. Caleb DeBruyne, Henry Thunderblanket and Kale Pratte would all find the back of the net in the final 5:47 of the game  to complete a comeback win for Prairie. Connor Millsap (43/46) earned the win for PHA.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) vs International Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Jacob Horb opened the scoring for IHA but CDA would score four unanswered including a hattrick from Tanner Lozano (3G). Alex Clark (1G, 2A) would score the other CDA goal while Tyler Mak (40/41) made 40 saves to earn the win. Luca Stegmann (39/43) made 39 saves in the loss. 

Indigenous Sports Academy (9) vs Shawnigan Lake School (8) U17 Prep

A high scoring affair saw ISA defeat SLS 9-8 Saturday morning. Tayvian Delorme (2G, 5A) lead all skaters with seven points while ISA teammates Rowen Albert (1G, 1A), Sage Roberts (2G, 1A), Caige Starr (2A), Courage Steinhauer-George (1G, 1A) and Daine Thomas (1G, 1A) all recorded multi-point games. Eliot Compton (2G, 2A), Chase Kittleson (2G) and Brendyn Van Oene (3A) paced the Shawnigan offence. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs Notre Dame (6) U15 Prep

Dominique Fortin (3G) recorded a hattrick and Daxton Endicott (1G, 2A) added three points of his own as Notre Dame defeated PHA 6-3. Ryder Gilroy and Brodyn Pladson (1G, 1A) scored the other Notre Dame goals while Owen MacLean (24/27) made 24 saves in the win. Kane Domres (1G, 1A) and Jackson Haugan (2G) scored the goals for PHA. 

BWC Academy (7) vs Delta Hockey Academy (8/SO) U15

Delta would lead 3-2 after 20 and 5-3 after 40 but they would need a Treyce Pavlic (2G, 2A) goal with just 30 seconds remaining to tie the game and force OT. Overtime would solve nothing and a shootout was required, with Delta ultimately emerging victorious. Along with Pavlic,  Alexander Laing (2G, 1A) and Christian Sum (2G, 1A) each scored two goals for Delta. Declan Iacoviello (2G, 2A) scored twice for BWC Academy. 

North Shore Warriors (3) vs RHA Kelowna (9) U16 Prep

Liam Russell (34/37) made 34 saves, Teghan Mullin (2G, 2A) scored twice and Luca Cupello (1G, 3A) had a four point game of his own as RHA Kelowna defeated North Shore 9-3. Aidan Fisher (1G, 2A) and defenceman Ryder Mead (1G, 2A) each tallied three points in the win. Beckham Brossard (35/44) was in net for North Shore in the loss. 

OHA Edmonton (3) vs BWC Academy (4/OT) U17 Prep

OHA Edmonton opened the game with three straight goals as Max Stanton, Reese Hicks and Keanan Pearman all found the back of the net within the first 20:31 of action. Will Shepard (3G) would get BWC Academy on the board late in the second, before scoring an early third period tally. Ashton Beriana (1G, 1A) would tie the game late in the third and Shepard would complete the hattrick just six seconds into overtime as BWC Academy came back for a 4-3 win. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs RHA Kelowna (4) U17 Prep

Avery Johnson (2G, 1A) led all skaters with three points, Cameron Beisal (37/41) stopped 37 shots and Mikale Budz (1G, 1A) and Noah Thul (2A) chipped in with multi point games as PHA defeated RHA Kelowna 6-4. Kelsen Podworny (1G, 1A) and Jake Skogstad (2A) had  two points each in the loss. 

OHA Edmonton (5) vs RHA Winnipeg (7) U15 Prep

A busy first period saw RHA lead 3-0 9:23 in before OHA Edmonton scored 2 goals in a span of 1 minute. Koy Funk (3G, 1A) would get one back for RHA Winnipeg, before Kayden Lemire (1G, 1A) would end the high scoring period with a goal with 23 seconds remaining. Funk and Trystan Hunter would score the only second period goals as RHA Winnipeg added to their lead. Funk would complete the hat-trick in the third, but two OHA Edmonton goals would make the game a close one, one that RHA Winnipeg would win 7-5. 

Yale Hockey Academy (7) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (2) U15 Prep

Yale scored the first four goals of the game, building an insurmountable lead en route to a 7-2 victory. Aiden Eskit (21/23) made 21 saves and Yale scored on 7 of their 28 shots on the Delta net. Brayden Ryan-Mackay (2G, 1A) led the Yale offence, while Koray Bozkaya (1G, 1A), Jake Henderson (2A), Kaeden Kalkat (1G, 1A) and Ryker Swanson (1G, 1A) all contributed two point outings. Joshua Lee and Milan Mrsic scored for Delta in the loss. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (6/SO) vs International Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Devon Winder (2G, 1A) and Gavin Garland (1G, 1A) gave IHA a 2-0 lead heading into the second period. Drew Molde (1G, 1A), Bryson Aikens (1G, 1A), and Carson Haugan would all respond for PHA, while a goal from Braxton Thornton 24 seconds after the Molde goal would see the game tied heading into the third. Daniel Helary (1G, 1A) would give PHA an early advantage but Justice Loewen (1G, 1A) and Winder would each score to give IHA another lead. Caleb Lepitre would score with just under five minutes remaining to force OT, and eventually, a shootout. In the shootout Aikens would score the lone goal and Liam Ernst (24/29) would stop all three IHA shooters. 

BWC Academy (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U16 Prep

Bodhi Matthew (1G, 1A) and Zac Lorence (1G, 1A) each scored their first goals of the season as BWC Academy held a 3-0 lead 1:34 into the second period. Lyndon Tung would get OHA on the board late in the second but two more unanswered by Christian Revel and Cooper Stockdale (1G, 1A) would secure a 5-2 BWC Academy victory. Mattias De Zen (3A) recorded three assists and Mitchell Pearce (26/28) made 26 saves in the win. 

Notre Dame (0) vs Edge School (9) U18 Prep

Hayden Harsanyi (2G, 1A) and Yibin Yoo (2A) each scored twice, Miles Cooper (1G, 2A), Nolan DuPont (2A), Ashton Gallagher (1G, 2A), Keets Fawcett (2A), Fraser Leonard (2A) and Terik Parascak (2A) each recorded two assists, and Ben Polhill (15/15) earned his first shutout of the season as Edge beat Notre Dame 9-0. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme  (8) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Eric Geisbrecht had two goals and an assist, while Luke Powell added a goal and a helper in the win for Northern Alberta Xtreme. The lone goal for Okanagan Hockey Academy was scored by Jacob Selent, who scored his seventh goal of the season 0:41 seconds into the final frame. However, Ryan Grout made 23-saves to earn his fourth win of the season between the pipes for NAX.

RHA Kelowna U18 (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy U17 (0) Female U18 Prep

Keara Parker had a pair of goals in the game, Maya Serdachny scored once and added two assists, Brielle Kelly-Paquet and Emelia McDermid had a goal and an assist each, as Hailey Armstrong scored a solo tally to round it out. Madison Bowtell picked up her eighth-straight win between the pipes for RHA Kelowna, and her first shutout of the season.

Notre Dame (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy picked up their 11th win of the season, getting offensive contributions from Tyson Moss who notched a goal and added two assists, Marco Depedrina who scored two goals while Jack MacFarlane and Alexandre Jacques registered solo tallies for YHA. Dominic McInenly stopped 21 of 22 shots he faced for the win between the pipes.

Edge School (5) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U15

Grey Zielinski scored 0:13 seconds into the game for Edge school, who scored three times in the first period. Jack Bissoon and Declan Cardiff added tallies as well. Carter Yerxa and Jihwan Kim responded for OHA Edmonton and Noah Stone lit the lamp on a penalty shot in the second period to tie the game 3-3 heading into the third period. Luke Jamieson scored for Edge and Yerxa added his second of the game for OHA Edmonton but with overtime looming Cardiff would score his second of the game with four-seconds left in regulation to win it for Edge.

Edge School (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) U15 Prep

Northern Alberta Xtreme remains unbeaten on the season improving to 15-0-0 with the win on Saturday. Nathan Guenther scored his fourth of the season for NAX in the first period, but it was answered quickly by Zach Olsen to tie the game for Edge School. After a scoreless second period, Maddox Rose notched his ninth of the season for the go-ahead goal. Parker Snell made 36 saves for his 10th win of the season in net for NAX. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U18 Prep

Quinn Ramsay had two goals in the game for the North Shore Warriors, including the game-winner, while Andrei Glukhov added the other goal. Okanagan Hockey Academy had goals from Jesse Ivanovic (PP) and Emmett Nordin in response but it wasn’t enough. Oliver Read earned his sixth win of the season between the pipes for the Warriors. 

Delta Hockey Academy (8)  vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) U16 Prep

Luke Sowpal had a goal and an assist, Dalton Toma scored twice and both Nicholas Campbell and Brett Woodard had three assists for Delta Hockey Academy in the contest. Reece Myoshi assisted on all three goals in the game for Pacific Coast Hockey Academy in the loss.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) vs St. George’s School (5) U17 Prep

Markus Lamb had a hat-trick for St.George’s Academy, Horen Wang had a goal and an assist, and Minsuk Hou notched a solo tally in the game. Aydan Wang had three assists in the game for the Saints. Corey Nilsson and Sam Takahashi each had a goal and an assist for Pilot Mound Hockey Academy in the loss.

Edge School (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Grayson Salmon, Jack Ferguson and Dane Pyatt all lit the lamp for Delta Hockey Academy in the game, while Armaan Kaila turned aside 35 of 36 shots to pick up the win in net for Delta. The lone goal for Edge School was scored by Leim Smith, for his eighth goal of the season.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs RHA Winnipeg (8) U18 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg fired 61-shots on net against Pilot Mound Hockey Academy in this one. Matthew Gard and Job Peters had two goals each, Blake Goretzki had two goals and an assist, and Hayden Paupanekis scored a goal and picked up two helpers en route to an eight goal outburst. Burke Hood stopped 16-shots to earn his fourth win between the pipes this season.

St. George’s School (7) vs RHA Kelowna (4) U18 Prep

Ben Sutton and Jesse Fader both scored two goals and added an assist while Zach Zapanta and Chace Frieden had a goal and a helper each to lift St. George’s School to a win. Jaden Sharma made 39-saves to earn his second win of the season between the pipes. Of note, Hudson Kibblewhite had a multi-point effort for RHA Kelowna with a goal and an assist in the game, his tenth goal of the season. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) vs BWC Academy (2) U15 Prep

Both teams struck twice on the powerplay in the game but Pacific Coast Hockey Academy took the edge in 5-on-5 to make the difference in the game. Parson Shahi had a goal and an assist for PCHA, while Declan Andrews, Drew Stinka, Madden Cruickshank and Holden Duggan each scored solo markers. On the other side, Kai Anderson and Hunter Ashton found the back of the net for BWC Academy in the loss.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U18 Prep

Walker Overwater scored three goals to register a hat-trick for Northern Alberta Xtreme, while Landon Hanson notched a goal and two assists in the contest. Harrison Boldt and Landen McFadden tallied for OHA Edmonton but goaltender Vaughn Kaliel stopped 38 of 40 shots he faced to preserve the win. 

Wenatchee Wild 16U (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy U17 Prep (5)

Noah Gebicki scored a goal and added two assists, Parker MacDougall added a goal and an assist, while Anson Speirs, Carter Crabb, Jack (Douglas) Bodel had solo tallies for Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. Wenatchee scored all three goals on the powerplay, from Brody Haas, Wyatt Hansen and Isaiah Van Zandt. 

St. George’s School (7) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15

Ishaan Sharma scored a pair of goals for St. George’s School while Josh Gravistin added a goal and two helpers. Carter Adams turned aside 38 of 39 shots he faced to pick up the win between the pipes for the Saints. The lone goal for the North Shore Warriors was scored by Chase Vossenaar, his second of the season.
