The Drayton Valley Thunder have added a pair of International Hockey Academy (IHA) student-athletes for the 2022/23 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season.
A defenseman from Calgary, AB, Kyle Federico spent the 2021/22 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) season with the IHA U18 Prep team. Federico would lead all IHA defensemen with 10 assists and 13 points in 32 games.
Lexton Grey has played the last five seasons in the CSSHL, joining in 2017/18 with the Edge School U15 team where he would record 2 goals and 2 assists in 25 games. The Cold Lake, AB defenseman would spend the next three years with the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (formerly Pursuit of Excellence) program, recording 4 points in 66 games split between the U15 Prep, U16 Prep, and U18 Prep levels. Grey would record 1 assist in 30 games with the IHA U18 Prep team this season.
