De Jong Signs with Condors

Former BWC Academy forward Ethan De Jong has signed an American Hockey League (AHL) Contract with the Bakersfield Condors for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.

The North Vancouver, BC product played two seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CCSHL). He joined BCW Academy for the 2014/15 U16 Prep season where he recorded a team best 21 goals and 37 points in 24 games. The following U18 Prep season he would lead the league in assists (38) and points (61), playing in 35 games.

Having affiliated to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for nine games with the Prince George Spruce Kings in 2015/16, De Jong would join the team full time in 2016/17, recording 30 points in 43 games. He would lead the Spruce Kings in scoring in 2017/18, finishing with 63 points in 50 games. That season De Jong would win a gold with Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge, tallying four points in five games.

In 2018/19 De Jong joined Quinnipiac University and and tallied 144 points in 184 NCAA games over 5 seasons with the team. In 2020/21 Quinnipiac University were NCAA (ECAC) Regular Season Champions and this past season they won a NCAA National Championship, their first in program history.
