GAME DAY RECAP: October 17, 2025

Ontario Hockey Academy (8) vs Fort Erie International Academy (0) East U18 Prep

Ontario Hockey Academy outshot Fort Erie 53-28 en route to an 8-0 win Friday morning. Vincenzo Mikhael Sanico Potvin opened the scoring 1:00 in before Mathis-Cael Aurelius (2G) scored back-to-back goals to round out the first period scoring. Nathaniel Noah scored his fourth of the season as OHA held a 4-0 lead after 40. That lead would double in the third as OHA scored four goals in 4:18 of play with Owen Kelly (2G) scoring twice and Gabriel Cote and Philip-Antoine Gemme scoring once. Nicolas Arcilla (28/28) made 28 saves for the shutout victory.

North Shore Warriors (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (0) Female U18 Prep

After some sustained early pressure from Delta Black, North Shore would find themselves on a late powerplay opportunity. As their special teams have been all season, the Warriors’ powerplay unit would strike again as Brooklynn King wired one home just as the man advantage expired on a late point shot to put North Shore up by one through twenty. In the second, North Shore’s powerplay was back to work, potting home their second of the morning with credit to Castilla Rubin on a deflection in front. The Warriors would kill off two penalties to close the frame with Emma Ward (32/32) standing on her head, making 11 saves in the second alone. Ward would keep her perfect game intact, shutting down Delta Black’s offense with another 13 saves in the third, recording her first career shutout in the CSSHL and backing North Shore to their fourth win of the season.

Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs BWC Academy (4/OT) U18 Prep

Nigel Alberts (1G, 1A) scored his fifth of the season and Ben Staveley added a power play marker as Shawnigan led 2-0 after 20 minutes of play. BWC Academy would flip the script in the second as Dominic Seminoff (2G) and Otto Spofforth each scored their third goals of the season to level the score. Charlie Robinson gave BWC Academy their first lead as he scored 7:10 into the third but Maddoch Bond was quick to reply for Shawnigan, tying the game 1:02 later. The two teams would head to overtime where a late Shawnigan penalty gave BWC Academy a 4-on-3 advantage. On the power play Seminoff would score his second of the game with just seven seconds left to give his team the 4-3 win.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) Female U18 Prep

RHA Winnipeg outshot Pilot Mound 43-12 en route to an 8-0 winning Friday afternoon. Georgia O’Neill (3G) and Rowyn Street (3G) each recorded hat-tricks with Adriana Duna and Sydney Stibbard (1G, 2A) adding the other RHA Winnipeg goals. Defenseman Sterling Lynch (3A) added three assists in the win. Maddison Hagen (12/12) made 12 saves for her first career CSSHL shutout. Allie Attema (35/43) made 35 saves in the loss.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U17 Prep

The Pacific Coast special teams stole the show in the first as Luke Schamehorn and Cameron Young-Thompson scored power play goals and Kyle Rushton (1G, 1A) added a shorthanded marker to give their team a 3-0 lead. Another special teams opportunity early in the second saw James Koch strike on the power play to get North Shore on the board. Dane Dyer would quickly respond for Pacific Coast, scoring the first even strength goal of the game 6:25 into the second period. Foster Armstrong would round out the scoring 3:05 into the second, scoring his second goal of the season.Eliott Horner (57/58) was credited with 57 saves in the win.

Rothesay Netherwood School (2) vs Bishop’s College School (6) East U18 Prep

Tyler Fuicelli (29/31) and Marty Hackenberg (43/49) kept clean sheets in the first as the game remained scoreless until early in the second when Kayden Robitaille (1G, 2A) scored his third of the season to get Bishop’s on the board. Dominic Schnarr (2G, 1A) would score back-to-back goals to start the third as the lead grew to 3-0. RNS would get on the board a few minutes later as Will Cole found the back of the net for the fifth time this season. But Bishop’s would respond with three goals in 2:54 as Luca Stasi (2G, 1A) scored twice and Brandon Fuicelli (1G, 1A) once to give their team a commanding 6-1 lead. Christiano Henriques would add a consolation goal for Rothesay Netherwood a few minutes later as the final scoreline was 6-2 in favour of Bishop’s.

Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4/SO) U15 Prep

Benton Fuller (2G) and Olan Ward (1G, 1A) scored inside the first 6:28 of the game as STAR grabbed a quick 2-0 lead. Nate Brocklehurst would get Shawnigan on the board 6:14 into the second period with his second goal of the season. Fuller would counter for STAR 10 minutes later with his second of the game, and second of the season. Shawnigan would mount a comeback in the third as Torin Kozma and Mason Wallace (1G, 1A) scored 43 seconds apart early in the period to even the score and send the game to overtime. After OT solved nothing, five rounds of the shootout would be needed. ET Kennedy would end things in STARs favour as he beat Bryce Roache (45/48), and William Duffy (32/35) stopped James Oberleitner.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (7) U15

Both Delta Hockey Academy Black and Yale Hockey Academy headed into their Friday evening game looking to maintain perfect records, with DHAB’s two wins last weekend seeing them flex their offensive muscles. Yale would have been very aware of Delta’s goal-scoring prowess, with DHAB scoring 19 goals over just two games last weekend, while Yale’s U15 squad came in without having seen game action since the end of September. Yale’s team didn’t look in any way stale, with weeks without game action not affecting YHA’s performance against DHAB. Yale’s start saw them spring into a 4-0 lead barely two periods into the hockey game, with Jack Hagen (2G, 1A) scoring a pair before Delta Black even had a sniff of goal. Delta Black managed to throw plenty of rubber at the Yale net and managed to pull themselves back into contention with a pair of second-period goals, the latter of which came from Stefano Trentalance, scoring what’s already his eighth goal of the young season. Yale, however, added more offence, with Ben Beggs’ second goal of the game sending Yale into the third with a four-goal lead. They’d ultimately prevail 7-4 to keep their unbeaten status intact.

Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3/SO) U17 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy’s start to the U17 Prep season was a victory over North Shore, but since then, they’ve gone winless in three straight. RHA Kelowna came into their game Friday having played just twice in the U17 Prep division, but remaining undefeated in the season’s infancy. It looked like that effort to maintain perfection for RHA Kelowna was going to come up short in the early stages of the third period, with goals from Matthew Zaitchikov and Matteo Zenone propelling Yale into an early 2-0 lead. Come the midway point of the third period, the 2-0 Yale lead disappeared in less than a three-minute span, with quick goals from Zander Horn and Charlie Schmitt tying the game at two. The overtime lacked many grade ‘A’ scoring chances, with the game destined for a shootout. RHA Kelowna scored three goals on the four shots they took, with Kaius Millan striking the telling blow come the skills competition, helping RHA Kelowna come from behind to take the contest 3-2.

Edge School (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) U18 Prep

Edge School’s U18 Prep season so far has been a mixed bag of results, having lost to Calgary International Hockey Academy and Pacific Coast Hockey Academy, two games in which Edge would have hoped for more. RINK Hockey Winnipeg followed up their season-opening victory with back-to-back losses, now heading into a weekend that’ll see them play three very capable teams, starting with Edge. The Mountaineers scored two goals in the early stages of the first period, and from there, Edge School wouldn’t allow that lead to be threatened. Darius Odermatt scored on a great solo dash in the first period, and it was his second goal of the game with one second left in the second period that gave Edge a commanding four-goal lead through two periods. RHA Winnipeg would only get one back in the third, with Edge prevailing 4-1, improving their record to get bumped back above a .500 win percentage.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

South Alberta Hockey Academy’s weekend foray into Manitoba on Friday, facing Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, before the team wraps up their U18 Prep weekend with RHA Winnipeg on Saturday. PMHA come in having won back-to-back games, winning by a big margin over both the Wenatchee Wild and Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy. From the time Kutcher Aquila gave SAHA the lead (a mere 67 seconds into the first period), PMHA were chasing the game and could never quite catch it. Ryker Klassen’s shorthanded goal later in the first gave SAHA the two-goal cushion, and although Cole Landreville’s efforts kept Pilot Mound in contention, his two goals were cancelled out by Damen Vanderberg and Sully Kufflick scoring on the powerplay for SAHA. Cash Christie was the less busy of the two goaltenders, but he still had to be strong, making 25 saves on 27 shots to help SAHA to their victory.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (9) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U18 Prep

The U18 Prep side of the Northern Alberta Xtreme were perfect coming into their Friday evening clash with OHA Edmonton, who have won only two of six games so far this season. NAX came in as one of three teams in the U18 Prep division who hadn’t suffered a loss yet, and unfortunately for OHA Edmonton, their quest to maintain a perfect record overwhelmed OHAE. Despite Keenan Fox giving OHAE an early lead, NAX rattled off the next eight following that. Two first-period goals from Wenatchee Wild prospect Kalen Miles sent NAX on their way, and Brady Ondrus ended the game with four assists of his own, helping extend the lead to 8-1 by the second intermission. The two teams would trade a goal apiece in the third period, with NAX prevailing 9-2.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (23) vs Notre Dame Hounds (2) U15 Prep

The U15 Prep division, for the most part, didn’t see action last weekend thanks to the Rebels Fall Classic taking up the time of a significant number of CSSHL member clubs. The Northern Alberta Xtreme won twice in October’s first weekend, while conversely, the Notre Dame Hounds had lost 6-2 to SAHA to open up their year. Focusing solely on the positives out of Notre Dame’s Saturday, Jax Baumuller scored his first two goals in the U15 Prep division, after scoring at better than a point-per-game in the U15 division last season. Unfortunately, the list of positives for the Hounds ended there, as Northern Alberta exploded offensively, not ceasing their pressure on the Hounds’ net for the entirety of the sixty-minute contest. The Xtreme had five players score five or more points with Emmett Abel (5G, 1A), Danel Ramazanov (4G, 3A), Liam Bordt (3G, 4A), Jett Evans (2G, 4A), and Rylan Edwards (2G, 3A) all contributing to the 23 goals scored by NAX. Despite losing by such a significant scoreline, Notre Dame still managed to throw 36 shots on net, 34 of them saved by Kash Anderson in the Northern Alberta goal.

North Shore Warriors (1) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2/OT) U17

A pair of opening weekend losses to Delta Hockey Academy wasn’t the way Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy’s U17 squad wanted to start the season, and after that pair of losses, their efforts at a bounce-back had to wait 12 days before Friday’s clash with the North Shore Warriors. The Warriors’ U17 season, unfortunately, has been marred by offensive struggles, having scored once in their first six games combined. Both teams looked to Friday as a chance to snap their winless starts, and through two periods, it was North Shore leading the way. Down by one heading into the third period, CDA spent the entire third on the front foot, with their control of the period evidenced by the 16-3 shots on goal margin in CDA’s favour by the period’s end. The consistent pressure eventually paid off, with JJ Gauthier scoring late in the third period to tie the game at one and send it to overtime, where CDA would only continue their momentum, with the puck on their sticks for almost the whole extra frame. Logan Madrid ended up playing hero, sealing the victory for Coeur d’Alene just shy of the halfway point of overtime, sealing the comeback 2-1 win.

Shawnigan Lake School (1/OT) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) Female U18 Prep

The Okanagan Hockey Academy Female U18 Prep team have, at times, struggled to consistently score throughout the beginning of the season. These struggles have yielded disappointing results, as save for their 2-0 victory over SAHA on October 5, they’ve failed to earn another win. Shawnigan Lake School’s start to the season has seen both some very competitive and very lopsided hockey, experiencing tightly-fought and blowout scores in both their wins and losses heading into Friday. The theme of low-scoring games for Okanagan Hockey Academy would continue into Friday, with all three periods going scoreless. The space afforded by three-on-three overtime was evidently what was required for the game to finally see its first goal. Tess McGee scored 91 seconds into overtime to give Shawnigan Lake School the win. McGee was the overtime hero, but SLS wouldn’t have seen overtime if not for goaltender Aidyn Carkner, who made all 32 saves for the shutout victory.

Delta Hockey Academy Green (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4/SO) Female U18 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy Green’s start in the Female U18 Prep division had merely one falter heading into Friday’s game, maintaining their near-perfect records with five wins in the first six games. Coincidentally enough, RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s first six games have also yielded them five wins, with these two teams playing twice this weekend, both looking to maintain their spots in the top three of the Female U18 Prep division rankings. Friday’s game was ultimately two contests: one in the first two periods, and one in the third. RHA Kelowna dominated the first forty minutes, and their special teams broke through to score three goals over that timeframe, two from Kennedy Sisson on second-period power plays. RHAK switched off in the third period, and Delta Green took advantage. After an early goal, Delta Green would make it 3-2 with just under five minutes to play in the period through Emma Deleurme’s first goal of the season. 26 seconds after DHAG reduced the deficit to one, Emma Kohl snatched up another goal, tying things up at three. Kennedy Sisson and Alida Korte, RHAK’s two goal scorers in the game, ended up the heroes in the shootout, both scoring. Despite letting the 3-0 slip, RHAK still managed to escape with the victory.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs BWC Academy (9) U15

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s U15 squad’s most recent game was a victory over Okanagan Hockey Academy, a huge win for RHAK, seeing as they’d lost their first five games of the season going in. BWC Academy’s U15 season has been the inverse of RHAK’s, with BWC losing their season opener but responding by rattling off four straight wins since that loss. That momentum continued into the first period of Friday’s game against RHA Kelowna, with BWC scoring five goals in the first en route to a massive victory. Mars Zhang (2G, 2A) and Owen Chapman (1G, 3A) scored four points apiece.
