RHA Kelowna Teammates Sign WHL SPAs

A pair of RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna U18 Prep student-athletes have signed Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreements (SPA) after being selected in the 2021 WHL Draft.

Maddix McCagherty was selected in the second round, 25th overall by the Swift Current Broncos. The Kelowna, BC forward is currently in his third Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) season with his hometown team. In 16 games this season McCagherty sits third in team scoring with 20 points. He spent the previous two years playing for the RHA Kelowna team, finishing with 21 points in 5 games last year, and 27 points in 30 games in 2019/20.

Selected in the first round, 14th overall by the Prince Albert Raiders, Ryder Ritchie is in his third season with RHA Kelowna. The son of former NHLer Byron Ritchie, Ryder has seven points in just six U18 Prep games this season. In 5 games last season, Ritchie led the RHA Kelowna U15 Prep team with 18 assists and 28 points. In 2019/20, Ritchie finished with 30 points in 29 U15 Prep games.
