Pontiacs Forward Commits to Michigan Tech

Bonnyville Pontiacs forward Kash Rasmussen has committed to NCAA Division I program Michigan Tech University.

Rasmussen is currently in his fifth Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season with the Pontiacs after joining the team during the 2016/17 season. He would finish that year with 11 points in 35 games. The Cochrane, AB native is currently serving as the Pontiacs captain, sitting second in team scoring with 49 points in 39 games. In 142 AJHL games, Rasmussen has 102 points.

Prior to his time in the AJHL, Rasmussen spent three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Edge School. He joined the program in 2014/15, tallying 4 points in 18 U15 Prep games. In 25 U15 Prep games the following season, he would lead his team with 24 assists and 34 points, leading to the Tri-City Americans selecting him in the fifth round, 95th overall in the 2016 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

During the 2016/17 season Rasmussen would in goals (25), assists (28) and points (53) as Edge School would capture a CSSHL U18 Prep League Championship.
