GAME DAY RECAP: October 20-22, 2025

Calgary International Hockey Academy (2/OT) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

In the lone game Monday Aidan McIntosh opened the scoring 8:30 into the first period with his third goal of the season. Marcus Vo would have the chance to extend the lead with a penalty shot late in the period, but Adam Courchesne (57/59) shut the door. After a scoreless second, Collin Friedrich tied the game 5:25 into the third, beating Braxton Gibson (26/27) for his fourth of the season. The two teams would head to overtime where defenseman Jacob Balaberda (1G, 1A) scored a shorthanded game winner for CIHA. 

Ontario Hockey Academy (1) vs Kuper Academy (3) East U17 Prep

Kuper Academy grabbed a 1-0 lead 3:24 in as Julius Mollica scored his first goal of the season. Each team would have double digit shots on goal in the second but Matteo Valluzzi (19/20) and Matvii Kulish kept clean sheets as it remained a one goal game heading into the third. Kuper extended their lead 2:07 in as Gavyn Thomas scored his sixth of the season, before Adamo Ersoni found the back of the net to give Kuper a 3-0 advantage. Alexy Garneau would end the Valluzzi shutout bid with 4:55 remaining, but that was as close as OHA would get. 

King Heights Academy (1) vs Fort Erie International Academy (8) East U18 Prep

Fort Erie outshot King Heights 26-3 and scored 3 goals in less than 3 minutes as Riley Cave, Christophe Gagne (1G, 2A) and Yuri Baunov all found the back of the net early in the first. Misha Shelipov would score the first King Heights goal of the season 6:19 into the second to cut into the deficit. But Fort Erie would respond with four more to close out the period as Colton Wilkie (2G), Zachary Brochet, Baron Tanton and Thomas Harvey (1G, 1A) all beat Cole Minthorn (56/64). Wilkie rounded out the scoring with a third period marker, his second of the game and sixth of the season. Demity Gikas (11/12) was credited with the win. 

Notre Dame Hounds (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

Drake Mooney (24/24) and Joshua Heitman (49/55) kept clean sheets in the first period as it took 34:22 of game play for either offence to breakthrough. Jaxon Nicol’s (1G, 1A) first of the game opened the scoring while Sam Degenstein and Grant Gliege added late second period goals to extend the lead to 3-0. Defenseman Liam Kilfoil (2G) would score back-to-back goals while Tristan Hoko added his third 1:13 later to round out the scoring in a 6-0 Prairie victory. Easton Nafziger (3A) led all skaters with three points.
